i am making a new computer, so i need a good card. i would love to get the ATI AIW X1900 but can't find it anywhere to buy...

that's not what i'm talking about tho. im askin why you need an aiw for video input. my 5yr old video camera can plug into my comp thru usb and i can take in the video that way..

ok so what capture card would you reccomend, ah and yeah i've noticed that s-composite gives better quality when transferring video from cam to pc.

My suggestion would be to skip the AIW and go for a dedicated card for video editing and on good video card.

Exemple: ATI TV Wonder 650 they make it in both PCI and PCIE. Video card, something like an X2600XT or X1950pro.

Better compatibility between same manufacturer + better for Vista.

Catalyst 7.10 is out and there's still nothing for AIW in Vista. Unless you stay in XP or you use a 3rd party software for video editing.

lol you still don't get what i'm saying. can your video camera plug into your computer by means of usb or firewire?
