Can't copy the following files: BIDINTRX.INF, HFSLPGUI.CMD, HFSLPG

I used hfslip to slipstream a windows 2000 installation with SP4 & hotfixes after SP4. I'm using the slipstream windows 2000 with Unattended. When it copies files from the unattended server to the client machine. It gives me a cannot copy the following setup files: BIDINTRX.INF, HFSLPGUI.CMD, HFSLPGUI.INF from the slipstream windows 2000.

I'm using hfslip v1.6.3. with hfslip v1.6.2. it only gives me the BIDINTRX.INF file which can't be copied. So what I do to slove that is get rid of the line in txtsetup.sif file in i386 and everything works fine after I do that. I think this works because bidintrx.inf is parsed through secedit.exe at first GUI logon in v1.6.2 quoted is the changelog line:

"[2K&XPSP1] when slipstreaming MDAC 2.8 Gold/SP1, bidintrx.inf is included; it is parsed through secedit.exe at first GUI logon"

So I was wondering why does v1.6.3. has the HFSLPGUI.CMD & HFSLPGUI.INF cannot copy error?

Thanks.

Does Unattended go by what's in LAYOUT.INF? If so, that's the problem. If LAYOUT.INF is edited, Windows setup will throw up on you so HFSLIP doesn't change that file.

The HFSLPGUI.CMD and HFSLPGUI.INF errors are strange. I could understand if it were only HFSLPGUI.INF because HFSLIP 1.6.3 is deleting the temporary %SYSTEMROOT%\HFSLIP folder at first GUI logon now, for which HFSLPGUI.INF is used. HFSLIP 1.6.2 and previous versions removed the temporary folder at T-13 but this was changed because for some people it happened too early. I think that you had files in the HFGUIRUNONCE folder when running HFSLIP 1.6.3. At least, that's the only way I can explain the HFSLPGUI.CMD error, apart from using HFSLIP's default handling of IE7.

Nope I don't think so.. I think Unattended is going by what's in TXTSETUP.SIF cause when I comment out BIDINTRX.INF line from TXTSETUP.SIF I get no error for it when I run windows install.

Yea I have a file in HFGUIRUNONCE. The file is: UPHClean-Setup.msi

Maybe I should try taking out that file and running hfslip again?

Yea I'm not using IE7 so yea.

By the way Thanks for the help Tomcat76!

You are slipstreaming MDAC 2.8 SP1 so you should remove the update for MDAC 2.5 SP3.

Can you please fix these problems first?

Hi!

I just tought you might have the problem like I did, namely that MDAC_TYP.exe is not the SP1 version. It has to be exactly 6100504 bytes. If it's not then it isn't 2.81. I had accidentaly grabbed version 2.8 and I it gave me the same bidinrtx.inf error.

There is a checksum at Tomcat's list too. You might want to check it.
