Jedi82 Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 i was always thinking about how to remove, for example when new version are available, the addon integrated before by nlite on the copy of winxpunattended..it's possible and if yes how?
Kelsenellenelvian Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Depends on the addon. Was it a silent installer or a "True" addon? If it was a silent installer than yeah it is not too hard to remove it.If it is a true addon then you are in for a lot of work.
anonymous_user Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 How do you remove silent installers?
Jedi82 Posted October 3, 2007 Author Posted October 3, 2007 ???? ehm...what? I just want to know if it's possible, once integrate some cab installer, to remove these one on my win unattended and place newer ones..
Arkymedes Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 Yes, I want to know also how to remove addons. I have some programs that I want to update into the ISO file. If someone knows please help
Arie Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 If you frequently update software in your installation source, in my humble opinion, you can better use HFSLIP than nLite.
newsposter Posted October 11, 2007 Posted October 11, 2007 (edited) ......on the other hand, it takes me less than 30 minutes to go take a fresh XP 'install source', run through wmp11 integration, nlite, all of the BtS Driverpacks, and then ISO generation. testing the thing in a VM takes another 45 minutes. Burning a fresh DVD and putting it on the shelf is another 10 minutes.I just keep my install sources up to date as new releases come out and when I actually need a new ISO I run through the process. This takes a lot less time (and guarantees a good, bootable, installable ISO) than manually hacking an existing ISO and hoping for the best.BTW, my install/test machine is a Pentium4, 1.6 Gz, 512 Mb ram spining a 5400rpm disk drive. So you don't need enormous amounts of horsepower to run things properly. Edited October 11, 2007 by newsposter
