footballking3420 Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Do I really to added in the newest DirectX 9.0c bi-monthly update? Can I just stick with the ones that came with my install disc? I don't really run any PC games, mostly just emulators. Are there any performance increases that I'll actually notice with the newest DirectX 9 files installed?
beepop100 Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 um you should consider what uses directX. Games is not the only program that uses directx. Directx is a bunch of API's/ runtimes if you didn't know what. Playing videos uses directx and some internet aps.It wouldn't hurt updating directx just once from the original; go here to find a link to ryanvm's directx addon (only 3mb) http://www.msfn.org/board/Windows_XP_CD_Up...ay_t104275.htmlwiki's article on directx is too long to decipher what prog's use directx: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectX
