wireless adapter 802.11g speed problem!

I just bought a D-Link wireless access point and a D-Link wireless adapter with both 802.11G 108mbps bandwidth capable.access point is set to auto negotiate between 802.11G(108 mbps) and 802.11B(54mbps) but my network adapter negotiates 54mbps speed.how can i fix it so the speed increases to 108mbps?

did you try to set a fixed speed of 108 Mbps?

and BTW:

IEEE standard 802.11: 802.11g = 54 Mbps, 802.11b = 11 Mbps. 108 Mbps = non-standard proprietary tricks, channel bonding, etc.

If they are too far apart they may negotiate the speed down. The closer they are (the better the signal), the faster they can go.

thanks for the info.problem was the SUPER-G mode that was disabled.
