Still when I want to access it from other computer in LAN (running XP), it asks me to enter username/password.I have tryed to restart both computers for case, there is some cache involved, but it didnt help.
andrewpayne Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Local Policies > User Rights Assignment > Access this computer from the networkSet the value to 'Everyone' and restart to take effect.
benbenben Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 Everyone is already listed.Very strange is, that Im able to access the notebook without password from another computer. But this one insist on putting username/password. I dont understand this.
Alex_Ncfc Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 I'm having a similar problem and I don't know whats up. I run Vista and the machine downstairs runs XP Pro. When I try and access the computer downstairs through "Network" on the start menu, it asks for a user name or password, and I have no idea why.
browney595 Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Theres an option within the network sharing centre to disable password protection on a share from your vista machine
