Hi

On this computer somehow my administrator account has a custom name I chosed.

Now I have formated my other computer but I did not saw any option to change the "administrator" name/account and it's plainly named "administrator"

How exactly do you change your administrator account name to a custom one? So for example in your documents and settings, to apear your custom name and all users, instead of administrator and all users (I don't use a login screen, I dont have more than 1 account, i'm the only one using the computers)

just go to computer management > users and groups > right click on user > select rename (for xp pro, for xp home use the net user command)

No, actualy it seems that on this computer I have a seperate account with my custom name. I mean when I go to computer management and users I can see the administrator, and this account.

But yet, when I go to switch user, I cannot see the administrator account, only this one. Same for when I am in explorer and I click on My computer. Only documents I can see below the drives are "Shared Documents" and "x Documents" x - being this account.

I created a new account on the other computer which acts like an administrator but still, I can see the administrator documents and in switch users.

Any idea the discripancy?

One problem I had with doing this is using the Recovery Console. It prompts you for the administrator's password...you can't actually use the RC if you change the admin's login name because you can't login to the RC.

By default the administrator account will be hidden on the welcome screen, you can change that with tweakui which modifies a registry key under winlogon.

But a simplier resolution is simply press ctrl+alt+del twice, thatll bring up the classic logon screen, just simply type in administrator for the user name and you can log on.
