Messerschmitt
Hey, hopefully I am writing in the correct section.Regarding rig performance, for, obsiosly, games, I just ran my 3dMark03 just to compare my new rig with the 5 year old.I got 20580 on basic settings. Now, if I go to here I can see tha even notebook's get higher score with the 7950 GTS and 7800 GTX+ in SLI.Just wondering if this is normal for my E6750 2.66 1333 FSB2GB 800MHZ 4-4-4-12 CorsairXFX 8600 GTS Extreme (it's rated at 720 mhz on the box)In case it matters500HD Seagate 7.2kGigabyte P35 DS3R.Please note that all this comes with the standard setup, in windows and BIOS.No idea how can I check my GPU mhz if it really is 720mhz, and I am almost sure that the standard bios setup runs my RAM at latency of around 5-5-5-18, and not even sure if I have my CPU set to 1333 FSB.Well the test also does not recognize my CPU, it puts it as unknown but does get it at 2667 MHZ

DigeratiPrime
so your new rig is slower at 3dmark03 than the older one? is that score 20580 for the 8600 GTS? Can you give us the rest of the info on that score, that is the shader score, pixel fill score, etc.
Messerschmitt
Yea, please move the topic there. And no, 20500 I get on my new rig (8600 GTS), on my old one I only get 1500. But I am saying that those laptops are getting 21000+.
Zxian
The SLI laptops will do better than your single 8600. Simple. The 7950 is a pretty high end DX9 card, so I wouldn't be surprised by the scores there. If you want to set your timings, go into BIOS and you should be able to lower them to the RAM's specs. Most systems have a key that you press to show the POST data while the system is booting up. It's usually tab or an F-key. You should also be able to see your FSB speed in BIOS.
