dwarfer Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 (edited) When I booted up my PC yesterday I got the blue screen saying my disk needs to be checked for consistency. I'd already skipped this a few times and seeing as I was in no hurry I let it run. During the process I noticed it deleted a few files and then 'Restored orphan files'. After this I logged on and my theme wasn't working. I went to display properties to set the theme again and noticed only Windows Classic was available. I checked the Themes service was running and it wasn't when I tried to start it, it gave me the message 'The requested module could not be found'. I performed a repair installation of XP and it fixed it allowing me to use Luna and Royale themes but customized themes from websites still do not work and appear like windows classic.I am running XP ProThanks Edited July 31, 2007 by dwarfer
gosh Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 you need to install a modified uxtheme.dll to enable unsigned theme support.-gosh
dwarfer Posted August 1, 2007 Author Posted August 1, 2007 Well it always used to work before without that dll
