herbie49 Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 I have a problem since I installed WinXP Professional SP2 fresh. If I insert my Kingston Data Traveler nothing happens. I checked then the Bios, and I have seen that there is no mass storage device found. It is working on my other PC, a WINXP SP1 and on my Laptop with WIN 2000 and it was working before when I had SP1 on my PC. So I checked the registry At my wife's PC there is this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USBSTOR. Also subkeys with data from Kingston Data Traveler. At my PC there is only this key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\USB.I have a Asus Motherboard P4P800SIntel Pentium 4 CPU 3 GHZ1 GB RamMaybe somebody can help me with a solution for my problem and how I can solve it, thanks
IcemanND Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 do other usb devices work in the same port? Did you remove any drivers from your installation cd using nLite? Have any software installed? Does it show up in the device manager? Are there any unknown devices in the device manager?
nmX.Memnoch Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 Make sure you install the Intel chipset drivers. Without those drivers none of your devices will work 100% correctly...and USB can be flakey without them.
