ExcellentGuy Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 Hi all,I have got Windows Vista DVD. Is it possible to extract only Windows Vista Ultimate from it? This question may sound stupid but i am still curious to know.Regards
aviv00 Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 use MiniPETools and with imagex.exe u could open itor moute it
amit_talkin Posted July 23, 2007 Posted July 23, 2007 now 7zip also supports WIM files...just install 7zip...right click on any wim file...and open it. u will see diff. folder names . those are just your image names...extract it..thts it!!
spacesurfer Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 If you're thinking you will save space by extracting the ultimate image... don't waste time. imagex optimizes the image by storing duplicate files only once. that means all the files that are common in all versions of Vista are stored only once.
MAVERICKS CHOICE Posted July 24, 2007 Posted July 24, 2007 vLiteGotta agree with Kel best way is VLite. If your installing from the dvd & not upgrading much of the sources dir contents can be deleted to save space.
aviv00 Posted July 25, 2007 Posted July 25, 2007 any app that could delete stuff from the a wim image ?[7zip cant]
