July 19, 200719 yr I have the following problem: since I've uninstalled Vista Smoker Pro 1.2, Vista is displaying menu animations as sliding. I would like to go back to fade-in and -out instead.I have checked all the option available in Performance Options > Visual Effects, but that simply does not work.I also wouldn't like to format the HD for this problem.

Click on the Advanced tab. Under Performance, click Settings.Uncheck these options: Fade or slide menus into view Fade or slide tooltips into view Fade out menu items after clicking Show shadows under menus Slide open combo boxes Slide taskbar buttons Use a background image for each folder type google can be ones best helper

July 19, 200719 yr Author ok here's the solutionYou have to delete the following value from the registry:Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\DesktopValue: UserPreferencesMaskThen use the Visual Effects settings in the Control Panel.Reboot.This seem to completely reset the visual "cache"
