chillinfart Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 (edited) Months ago i had this problem ( http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=96292 ). When i solve it i cannot write in the windows 2000 login window until wait 20-30 seconds(Apparently it is detecting drives). I don't know why it happens but i suspect the "service pack downgrade" that i did when i had the problem with my sound card(see link).Even when i reinstalled the SP4 the boot problem continues.PD: No virus/spyware suspect for now. Win2k is clean. Edited July 18, 2007 by chillinfart
RJARRRPCGP Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 You're not the only one! I have the same problem, even at almost 2.5 Ghz!
gosh Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 When you see the ctrl+alt+del window the network stack is being loaded (i believe there's a group policy to modify that behavior?). So if it's sticking here, it could be a driver issue, it could be a domain/network issue. The first thing i would check is event viewer to see what is being logged, such as dns errors, etc. In general windows 2000 doesnt have a "login issue"-gosh
