SnapShot Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Just a notice, when trying to start nmap with WinPcap i got the error message that NPPTools.dll is missing.I searched and found that same problem occured in the past with nLite:http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=43431http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&...st&p=500688It's not a big problem, but which component does NPPTools.dll belong to??? I can't find any network related component which seems logical for NPPTools.dll. Or maybe this is a nonintentional removal (bug)???
nuhi Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I don't see that file in Vista.Either see if Application Experience removal caused that (it has compatibility stuff in it) or simply that program is expecting XP dll...ask them about the error.
jamieo Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 (edited) Possibly Collaboration. I found that broke some netsh functionality but it's fixed now.Edit: oops, didn't see your post there nuhi. I just searched for that file in the original wim and it ain't there... Edited July 9, 2007 by jamieo
SnapShot Posted July 9, 2007 Author Posted July 9, 2007 Yup, you are right. NPPTools.dll is part of the Network Monitor and it has been removed from Vista. It can be downloaded separately from:http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...;DisplayLang=enSorry about the possible confusion.Problem solved you can close the topic.
