  1. not that much of a n00b. Everything had a different IP and nothing was using the wan port. I actually fixed this by using seavsof's firmware. Worked like a charm. My router started working 99% better. Then I clicked one option off and it was working 110%, meaning my sister who couldnt connect with her wireless is now able to
  2. OK here is my problem I have the wrt54g ok no that isnt it... I have a computer wired to it and then I have another router wired to it Now that works fine I can get to the internet and see other computers. But the computer wired to it cant get to the router setup. Now I connect a wireless computer to it and it can connect to the router but not see anything else. Tried reseeting to defautls and everything ANyone have any ideas?
  3. No that isnt the problem. We know of the 2gb limitation. And we have to fix that many many many many times a day. It acutally happens before 2 GB because of fragmentation. We have seen it happen with less than 1 GB all things being lost because they are to fragmented. I think out biggest case was some 45000 fragments in a 1.3 GB file. But that is not the issue. Thank you for the thought though
  4. First, I know there are newer version but when the company does not own them I cant upgrade. Now my problem. The folder list. How the h3|| do I reorder the thing. I have one person that has it in the wrong order totally as outlook today will start at the top where it should be. But after a few restarts it goes all the way to the bottom under the personal folders (which these people like having 2 gig personal folders, big errors with that that I have to fix every day.... dumb people) and another person that just has them all out of order in what appears to be random. I have looked all over and have had no luck. Anyone?
  5. Yes admins account and part of the remote desktop users groups. Still not working. I am really stumped
  6. Windows 2003 Enterprise. I create new users and they can not connect to the server Using Remote Desktop. Two users I have created before will work fine. But if I create a new user or copy one of the two that works correctly. It will not connect. It will start I can put in the username and password. but then it just closes the connection. It is only with the new accounts created. Not the old ones. Any Idea's?
  7. I have the 6cd version of the game as well. all you have to do is copy all the contents of the cd's to a folder on your HD. Overwrite whatever comes up and then burn that folder to the dvd. You will then have it on the DVD it will install just fine. Now if only there was a way to slipstream the patch onto the DVD as well. That would be cool. Or recreate the copy protection onto the dvd.....
  8. @MCT I already suggested the space saved thing. The answer was. It is difficult to estimate because of things being packed in the cab files. @TK_9630 I removed it and I do not get this error. I have also not herd of anyone else getting this error
  9. It might just be on my end but.... In the components list of Beta 7 I dont get a down arrow. And I cant read the last line image attached *Edit* Fixed. Image removed...
  10. what logs? THe ones for nLite or xpcreate. Neither show errors. Cause xpcreate has its fresh install and nlite does not know the difference I dont think.
  11. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=19109 KB828741, KB835732 & Update Rollup 1 KB826939 since we get teh error when using nlite I would assume it is since it does not happen if we just use xpcreate. or at least when I just use xpcreate
  12. nuhi I dont know if you have tried using your tool with xpcreate. But some of us have. And we get an error. WU sees 3 hotfixes missing. Where MSBA does not see them missing. Was wondering if it would be a file you are editing. as it happens in either order (nlite xpcreate or xpcreate nlite) I am not sure how WU checks for updates or how MSBA does it. But there has to be a difference or they would see the same things
  13. I suggest reduce then xpcreate. that way hotfixes dont get accidentally removed... The big question is... Why does windows update think the hotfixes are needed but MBSA does not?
  14. well maybe a total size for all drivers not a breakdown of each part. if you want I could help.. Take out one part see what the difference is. then take out another see what the difference is .....
  15. Well I have but the source for xpcreate is complete. (And when using them in connection with XP create It is best to make the source smaller then use XPCreate. Otherwise I have found that the reducing programs will remove stuff XPCreate Does.) I think what happened was that I didnt use the svcpack option. I am still having problems with the msjavwu.exe It does nto seem to want to install. ANd I actually use this because the version of XP I have is from DELL. I get an error also. never thought much of it but I get a file not found error after it does the msjavwu.exe I dont know what file it is missing or anything. I still get a few errors with some others though. One is my version is newer...(wmp.dll, 9.0.0.3128 > 9.0.0.3008)not worried about that one.... THen I get some cannot confirms 814078 819696 813360 THe JavaVM one is the one that I would like to fix but cant get to work...
  16. Dont know if it would be easy or not. But maybe add about how much space certain things take up
  17. I have some that windows update still sees but are on the CD and in teh right places KB835732 KB833407 KB826939 Not sure what is going on or why... logfiles.cab logfiles.cab
  18. actually found a way. using the link in your sig testing now.....
  19. I suggest you add a tooltip or something saying how safe something would generally be to delete. Like the games would be safe. And something like different drivers would be dangerous or if one is need by another. Lie OE is needed if you plan to install Outlook (at least I think it is). Also I dont know how hard it would be but maybe the ability to select different drivers to remove. LIke say I want the HP ones to stay since I have everything HP but I dont need canon ones. Just some thoughts
  20. ok sourcedrive works when it is being installed before the runonce. Is there a way to make it work after runonce? I would like something to run from the cd but it seems once I get into windows it will not work. Do you know a way to make it work?
  21. Just to update.... I got it working. Everything except for the Office 2003 install. It starts gets really far. and then dies. Unfortunately I cant attach the log file as it is 512k compressed from almost 20 megs. The only thing the smaller log file says is that it couldnt find pro11.xml Though if I install this in windows using the exact same command line it works.
  22. got it to log but dont know what went wrong....
  23. ok that fixed it. Now I cant get it to install ms office correctly. Also I was wondering if I could get it to look on the CD for files rather than having to copy things over to the HD first for the office install it comes up and start but then it seems to do a rollback could it be that I have to specify a username and pass for this one? and to get the files off the cd I didnt know if there was a variable like %systemdrive% like %cddrive% or something so I could leave the install files on the cd in say $oem$ XML <XPlode> <config> <hidewindow>Windows Update</hidewindow> <hidewindow>CMD.EXe</hidewindow> <show total='6' after='2' subcount='true' /> <!-- make antialiasing false if you're running GUIinstall mode --> <font face='Tahoma' antialias='false' small='8' large='12' /> <!-- note the position attribute - it is listed in 'x,y' positions. --> <!-- 0..8 still may be used. --> <window width='440' position='8' fixmain='0' /> <!-- can be standalone, guitransparent, or guiredraw --> <!-- for the latter two, you don't need to specify background colours, or images. --> <windowmode mode='standalone' /> <colours> <header back='#003399' fore='#FFFFFF' image='%XPLODE%\images\head.png' /> <footer back='#003399' fore='#FFFFFF' image='%XPLODE%\images\foot.png' /> <progress border='#FFFFFF' back='#00000000' fore='#FFFFFFAA' fore2='#00000033' /> <main back='#0000FF' fore='#000000' current='#FFFFff' description='#FFFFFF' image='%XPLODE%\main.png' overlay='#FFFFFF87' /> </colours> <strings> <!-- main XPlode string --> <title>Post-Install Configuration</title> <complete>complete</complete> <!-- adduser plugin strings --> <adduser>Adding user #1#</adduser> <addusertogroup>Adding user #1# to group #2#</addusertogroup> <addgroup>Adding group #1#</addgroup> <!-- file/dir ops plugin strings --> <copy>Copying #1# (#2#/#3# - #4#)</copy> <move>Moving #1# (#2#/#3# - #4#)</move> <delete>Deleting #1# (#3#)</delete> <!-- shortcut plugin --> <shortcut>Adding shortcut: #1#</shortcut> </strings> </config> <items> <item display='Adding users and groups...'> <!-- note the different use of quotes due to the data held in them --> <adduser username='' password='' groups='Administrators' fullname='' comment="Don't mess with the best!" /> </item> <item display='Registry Tweaks'> <!-- note the username and password - it will run under the user 'Spike', using the account password --> <execute display='Applying tweaks...' program='regedit' arguments='/s "%SYSTEMDRIVE%\Install\RegTweak.reg"' /> </item> <item display='WinRAR Plus 3.3...'> <execute display='Installing...' program='%systemdrive%\install\Applications\wrar330.exe' arguments='/s' /> </item> <item display='Office 2003...'> <execute Display='Extracting Archive...' program='%systemdrive%\install\Applications\Office2003.exe' arguments='/s' /> <execute Display='Installing...' program='%systemdrive%\install\Applications\Office2003\setup.exe' arguments='TRANSFORMS=%systemdrive%\install\Applications\OfficeXP\Unattended.MST /qb-' /> </item> <item display='TweakUI'> <!-- note the username and password - it will run under the user 'Spike', using the account password --> <execute display='Installing...' program='msiexec' arguments='/i %systemdrive%\install\Applications\TweakUI.msi /qb' /> </item> <item display='Symantec AntiVirus Corp v9.0.0.338'> <!-- note the username and password - it will run under the user 'Spike', using the account password --> <execute display='Installing...' program='msiexec' arguments='/i %systemdrive%\install\Applications\sav\sav.msi /qn RUNLIVEUPDATE=0 REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS' /> </item> <item display='Google Toolbar'> <!-- note the username and password - it will run under the user 'Spike', using the account password --> <execute display='Installing...' program='%systemdrive%\Install\Applications\GoogleToolbarInstaller.exe' arguments='/qn' /> </item> </items></XPlode>Yes I knwo ther eis no name and pass in the XML file.
