  1. Please help me. This is a server i'm talking about. I want the .cab files to integrate please. I have to have big security because servers are a big target for hackers. I know because I think my servers get attacked before.
  2. How could you say it's obsolete. Soon in the future you will say Windows 2000 Adv. Server will be obsolete and then just to use nLite integration I will be forced to buy Windows 2003 Server. Never end nLite support for Windows 2000. I will never upgrade to Windows 2003 Server. Also theres people that love to use old computers, and operating systems espically if now the newer systems will use Windows Product Annoyance/Activation. I don't want to be forced to activate just to have nLite supported server systems with activation. That's why I love Windows 2000 support is because I get to have a server without Product Activation. One more thing some people are forced to use old operating systems in old computers and they need good security. Does anybody agree that we need to have support for old operating systems (W98, W95, WNT, WMe) or never lose support for W2K, XP just because it becomes obsolete.
  3. I have a idea. Since the CD uses a boot file copy all the cds into another partition in your hard drive like a recovery partition. Just set a option to boot it up like. In Dos(Im not flaming just typing in caps because it does that in Dos): You can set the boot.ini [bootloader] to do this: WINDOWS XP HOME EDITION MY OWN RECOVERY PARTITION That way no need for cd
  4. Could you in newer versions of nLite make it compatible with Windows Vista, and Windows NT.
  5. I tried adding addons to my Windows 2000 Advanced Server SP5 installation disk but now everytime I add addon packs they integrate fine but when I install windows it has trouble with the addons. Do I have to use Windows XP for addon packs? If only for Windows XP then can there be a way to add addons support for Windows 2000 in nLite? and if all else fails could I just make the Windows 2000 the way I want it then ghost the installation into recovery like disks so I won't have to install all this software after install?
  6. Another reason why I want all security updates in SP5 is because if I don't have them in a servicepack, or update rollup my Operating System will refuse to install (You know become all error like). It's like a bug Microsoft developed so we are all forced to buy XP. But XP Home doesn't have a server. The errors I have been getting are you know missing file (Different ones so I can't give you the right description). How Can I install all the updates sucessfully without wasting cds. All this could be avoided if I just get those updates in SP5.
  7. I got a problem. I keep getting a missing file Error in Windows 2000 Adv. Server setup after trying to integrate hotfixes after Unofficial SP5. After I installed the Unofficial SP5 I tested it with Belarc and found out theres 8 missing patches: Windows2000-KB824151-x86-ENU.EXE Windows2000-KB911280-x86-ENU.EXE Windows2000-KB913580-x86-ENU.EXE Windows2000-KB914389-x86-ENU.EXE Windows2000-KB917344-x86-ENU.EXE Windows2000-KB917736-x86-ENU.EXE Windows2000-KB917953-x86-ENU.EXE IE6.0sp1-KB916281-Windows-2000-XP-x86-ENU.exe After simple non-nLite integration I keep wasting good, and I think expensive cds for no progress. I am tired of wasting cds that's why I wanted every security update to be on SP5.
  8. I can't update myself. Everytime I update my Windows 2000 Adv. Server with nLite or manuel security updating I have problems. That's why I want them in SP5 to avoid cd, Outlook Express, or other W2K Disasters.
  9. I tested with Belarc after installation of the Windows 2000 Adv. Server with SP5 and found 8 more security updates: Q824151 - Important (details...) Q911280 - Critical (details...) Q913580 - Moderate (details...) Q914389 - Important (details...) Q916281 - Critical (details...) Q917344 - Critical (details...) Q917736 - Moderate (details...) Q917953 - Important (details...)
  10. Anyways All I want to know is what freeware, programs, or methods on how to make my own service packs. That's all. I just want to know. I think it is possible because of these post service packs, and unoffical SP5 Service Pack.
  11. But I have to make a service pack. When I integrated the updates I keep having all these problems. I even got my server messed up. I just want to put them all in a service pack so I don't have to deal with the frustration. I use Windows 2000 Adv. Server. Heck I also got security holes too. I just want them all integrated without trouble with IIS, Outlook Express messing up with integration, or other stuff.
  12. What do you think. Do you think it's a motherboard, hard drive, or CDROM Failure. It might not have anything to do with nLite. I got it from this http://www.smartcomputing.com/editorial/ar...16r03/16r03.asp This is what I found on this site. It could be useful in descovering the true problem: Error Message: "Setup cannot access this disk." Translation: You may receive this error message during a Win2000 installation immediately after you accept the license agreement. It occurs when the disk controller can't effectively communicate with the hard drive for a number of complex reasons, among them a damaged hard drive or controller, an incorrect driver for the disk controller, a bad termination on the SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) chain, or a hardware compatibility issue with Win2000. But of all these, the most common cause of the problem is simply a bad hard drive. Solution: To resolve the issue, make sure the hard drive, the disk controller, and any related hardware all function correctly and are all Win2000-compatible.
  13. I deployed the .CAB files in with the updates, and security updates. I got a error when I installed Windows 2000 Adv. Server. Setup cannot access the CD containing the Windows 2000 installation files. To retry press ENTER. If you are not sucessful after several tries...
  14. Here is the page for APT: http://www.diamondcs.com.au/index.php?page=apt Could you make a addon for this cause I have always noticed on Windows 2000 adv. server there are programs that just hang and I can't terminate. With this program I will be able to terminate programs on my computer that tell me "Access Denied" even if im the user that authorized the program.
  15. I mean PHP standalone. WAMP might install Apache which might conflict with IIS.
  16. For all the person server owners out there what about a PHP addon Heck if you can get IIS included with certian Operating Systems what about PHP.
  17. I think they are called update packs. So how do I make them so that I can get it to hold all of the updates after SP4.
  18. Since there might not be a SP3 for Windows XP and I don't want to do all this work on nLite and having to test my disks for the latest security over and over again is there a possible way to make my own service pack, or to add security updates to the service packs. How can it be done to create my own service pack?
  19. Read This Post: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ternet+explorer The posts link I sent you will have a link in there telling you how to get the Full IE6 (Internet Explorer 6) installer on your computer. Tested it myself and it works. Come on try it out and you will be able to make a IE6 addon.
  20. It's possible to make a Internet Explorer 6, or Internet Explorer 7 standalone addon for nLite This page shows you how to get the installation files to get it to install offline http://www.liewcf.com/blog/archives/2005/0...lone-installer/ So is it possible one of you people that makes nLite addons could make a Internet Explorer addon now that we can get the files without online installation.
