i c wat u mean yes this hdd is external via ethernet set up on its own control pannel u can set up user on this control pannel should i use the admin password when logging into the networkdrive? ie the one i log in to on the external control pannel?

Hey guys i just on a little job atm im sort of an apprentice just setting up a little work group of about 5 machines the network consists of 2 printers (wireless print server) 2 laptops (wireless users) 3 machines (wired in) Lacie Ethernet hdd Its a problem with the network drive it keeps asking me for a password when i map it i can map it and it asks for a password it enables me to browse the drive, but if i restart the machine the drive appears disconnected and when i click it asks me for a password again i put the same password in and it works???? what is going on here i dint really want to input a password every time i restart the machines its not a work group set up its just default should i set one?? or am i missing something, a also check log in using different password and set that up but still no luck any ideas guys sorry if its a dump one lol I'm learning!!!

yep i have installed it it seems good but it is slow and seems to crash abit urge is real slow and im sure helps slow it up alot but the look is good will suit vista and the layout is great easy to use and doesnt drift away from mp10 which is good for newbies !! 7/10!! servers arnt for music!!!!

Hey! I have tried to remove the nic from device maneger and restart it does not make difference to the others i have tried to install the latest driver for the NIC but it still does not make a difference is there anyway i can download updates via anouther computer and transfer via media??? (dont think so as it need to kno wat u need and i dont need any!!! )) cheers for your help so far!

Is there anyway to update a system via downloading the updates then installing them as one of the devies on the laptop that is not working is the NIC so i wont be able to download any??? but wat i could do is download them on anouther system if u c wat i mean

Hey guys new to this forum looks great ! be even better if i can get this error sorted Its a laptop made by ei systems new install of xp sp2 seems to work ok, but in device manger i get yellow markers (!) <-- and ,this device cannot find enough free resources that it can use, there are loads of them the nic is doing it audio and few more?!?! in system info i get sum conflick yes i can see them bt how do i fix them ?? cheers guys im new into the IT inustry and made for learning so fill me up !!!
