  1. can anyone confirm if the SVCPACK files should reside in the AMD64 folder of the i386?
  2. I have created a SVCPACK folder under AMD64 I have copied one file IE7.EXE to the SVCPACK folder I have deleted the SVCPACK.IN_ under the AMD64 folder I have created a SVCPACK.INF as attached SVCPACK.INF I have modified the DOSNET.INF as attached DOSNET.INF However during the install IE7 is not executed and no svcpack.log is created. This does work fine on x86 but not on x64 do i need to add IE7.EXE to the files section in the DOSNET.INF ? Yours confised Nigel
  3. 2003 F2 option is the automated system recovery option (ASR) that can be used if yuor run a full backup of the system and generate a floppy containing the partion information and backup session tape etc. Its available if you insert the 2k3 OS cd and boot up and select F2 when prompted during the txtsetup portion
  4. My main purpose for doing this was to be able to DR a CD/FLOPPY less server via a PXE boot unattended install routine. Thanks
  5. Does anyone know if it is possible to perform the WIndows 2003 (F2) disaster recovery process unattended, I am not sure if you can modify the txtsetup portion to select F2 and look for the DR diskette prehaps on a network resource? Thanks Nigel
  6. Thank, i have now followed the following guide SATA Sysprep Guide extracted the floppy image to a directory c:\sata updated the [unattended] section added the [sysprepmasstoragedrivers] as suggested. re syspreped with -pnp -mini booted up and still bsod with native enabled when diasabled in F10 image flys through and ends up with IDE emulation mode i can then reinstall the IC7 chipset drivers followed by manually changing the driver for the SATA to the IC7 driver then reboot and system all fine. just sysprep not playing for some unknown reason. Thanks Nigel
  7. i have a NC4400 with SATA in native mode and i am deploying a syspreped image to it on first boot it BSOD loops as per the Storage Drivers scenario as if i disable native mode the image works fine. My sysprep.inf [unattended] oemskipeula=Yes InstallFilesPath=c:\sysprep\i386 UpdateInstalledDrivers=Yes DriverSigningPolicy=Ignore KeeppageFile= ExtendOEmPartition=1 ..... [sysprepmassstorage] PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27C5&CC0106=C:\D\M\IN\1\O\IAAHCI.INF PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27DF=C:\D\C\I\XP\ICH7IDE.INF The above two storage drivers were confirmed from device manager: NC4400 (NATIVE ENABLED) Intel® 82801G (ICH7 Family) Ultra ATA Storage Controllers – 27DF PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27DF Intel® 82801GBM SATA AHCI Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_27C5&CC_0106 Primary IDE Channel PRIMARY_IDE_CHANNEL Am i missing some other options in the unattended section? i have not used the Oempnpdriverspath as i have used devpath to populate the reg key with all the relevent paths. Thanks Nigel
  8. I have a couple of programs that i want to run after install. If i use the runonce option because the command called calls another program runonce thinks thats its finished and the desktop loads and sits open waiting for the process to finish the being rebooted. I wanted to know if there are any alternative ways to use the runonce without explorer loading ( mainly to stop the end user clicking around ) i though of maybe a hta that is launched from the runonce full screen and use the vb code to wait for things to finish and reboot the machine therfore hiding the desktop or are there way to runonce installs without the runonce ie when machine starts up somehow log the gina to prevent user logging on and run processes in the background maybe changing the wallpaper to indicate process before again resetting the gina and rebooting the machine. Thanks Nigel
