There is an interesting problem that may be of interest for the next version of the service pack. If you install IE6.0sp1-KB912812 before you visit the Microsoft Update site you get an “administrators only” error message, this is because this update changes the way ActiveX components are run. This caused me some head scratching when I did a reinstall of Windows 98SE with sp2a and update files I had previously downloaded.

I have just tried the SP2a for the first time today. A good job, but I would like to make a few comments. Why has the update Q313829 been omitted, the Microsoft update site said that it is a recommended update. The animated logon logoff logos are truly awful only their creator could love them. They should be removed from the service pack.

My PQi 1GB flash memory drive is not recognised by your NUSB22E driver file. Is there any way of modifying an inf file so that it will work (instructions please) and will it be supported in future versions. T.I.A
