    OEM Software

I recently read that Windows OEM products can only be installed on one computer and never transfered to another. Does this mean that if your machine dies and needs replacing or you want to upgrade the machine itself that you would have to purchase a another OEM machine or retail O/S and you would simply loose the other O/S? If so how would it be known?
  2. I checked it out. It seems like a decent product for a standalone machine and intigrates with Windows Defender. Built in features are defrag, antivrus, removes temp files and will do backups all in one session automatically. But your right about the cost. about $50.00 after the beta offer which ends April 30th and it can be used on up to 3 machines. But it lacks in the Firewall Admin department for monitoring and logging (not much good in a network) however they really improved the Firewall as compared to windows firewall in SP2. It does provide for both inbound and outbound control of ports. I think it can do port forwarding also.
  3. Anyone have any knowledge/thoughts or opinions about this Beta release?
  4. Thanks cyberpyr8. I was doing it correctly however i was not logging out of the account that i was using for testing so apparently it would not update the move into the new group I created. By the way whats up with the IP/ISP/OS and browser?
  5. How do I control access to files and folders for limited users on the same local machine if they are in the "Users Group" (default right?). They have access to any file created by default. I have tried removing the "Users Group" then create a new Group and place the user in the new group and remove them from the "Users Group". Basically what i want is a folder accessable by a group of users that I create but does not allow users in the "Users group" access and i want to keep them as limited accounts. I will be using this over a peer to peer network when i figure it out. Thanks for any input.
