  1. I can set the checkbox on '1' and click on 'Remember my choice' but infact it does not hold my choice. Every time i come new into this window the checkbox is not activated. Clicking on '2' brings me the plain white window.
  2. I never have worked with fast user switching (..you can all call me a noob...i can life with it ) If i see it right it has to be activated in 'useraccounts' by the admin. The attached picture shows an alert that says something like: "The fast user switching can not be taken because offlinefiles are in the moment activated. Click on 'OK' for making changes on the adjustment of 'offlinefolders'
  3. After creating a new useraccount i have to reboot so that switching can successfully done... The fresh start of the computer let me switch but the first time to log out from an account to another takes really some time and only a blue screen (not a crash oder BSOD or something else...only a blue colored screen with absolutly nothing on it...no icons...) looks on me for some time but then it goes on and all seems to work.
  4. Building an XP-ISO under w2k works here now absolutly perfect with beta6. Great!
  5. Mail is on the way :-) Would be good if someone other could test the building under w2k too to verify this behavouir.
  6. Sorry...bad news here (but that makes the high quality of this tool not smaller ). When i try to create an XP-ISO under w2k nlite brings me a fault message about no writeaccess to HIVEDEF.INF when i show nlite the path to the XP-files. A right-click on the i386 folder let me see that no writeaccess exist there (or on some files that lays in there). I think this is default on the XP-CD, isn't it? Changing it to have full writeaccess to i386 and all folders and files in it makes that the faultmessage gone. This happens by building: Controls enabled Calculating size...done E:\xp\ (502MB) Windows XP SP1 detected (5.1.2600.1106) Recommended to slipstream SP2 Choose Slipstream on bottom left or configure existing version by clicking Next Click Start to begin reduction Extracting drivers...done Building file list... Then it stands still here...no log-file was made (or i haven't seen it). ------------------------------------- The stringencoding-fault isn't gone (made an 148MB ISO under XP and short tested), but it still makes me smiling how problemless the setup with such a megasmall-ISO does gone throught. In the attached picture are some (not all) of this encoding problems marked.
  7. Ok, to lay done a little bit more productivity then making some nice handstands and a smiling face... Do i see it right that setting the checkbox 'Images and Backgrounds' under 'Multimedia' kills the folder Wallpaper and the Pattern (-pictures). So why not delete then the (useless¿) registry-entrys: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Pattern (HIVEDEF.INF): HKCU,"Control Panel\Patterns","%50_GRAY%",0x00000002,"170 85 170 85 170 85 170 85" . . HKCU,"Control Panel\Patterns","%WEAVE%",0x00000002,"136 84 34 69 136 21 34 81" Screensaver (HIVEDEF.INF):: HKCU,"Control Panel\Screen Saver.3DFlyingObj",,0x00000012 . . HKCU,"Control Panel\Screen Saver.Stars","WarpSpeed",0x00000002,"10" ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Perhabs it is going to width if i ask: Checkboxes for.... Schemes (HIVEDEF..INF) ...one checkbox:all or nothing (exept 'WINDOWS STANDARD' & 'WINDOWS CLASSIC') timezones (HIVEFST.INF)...everyone checkable EXPLORER_TIPS (HIVEFST.INF)...one checkbox:all or nothing AppEvents\EventLabels (HIVEDEF.INF)...one checkbox:all or nothing (perhabs it will be good to let life LOW_BATTERY_ALARM & CriticalBatteryAlarm because of notebooks...so HIVEUSD.INF can be untouched)? Yes...i know...i am really boring. Not one sentence about a founded bug for helping to make nLite perfect, just some small..."oh, that would be nice" and "Yeah! I like that". But what should i say then i think i have listed in my posts above all faults that i have found till now. Finally this post of mine talks about parts of what i change in the .inf after building and should only seen as an idea. Nothing above is important...really not. If it comes to the registry everyone has it own tweaks and it could come to an real endless story. So it makes the most sense to talk about deleting of regitry-entrys that are directly in relationship with a checkbox in nlite (Screensaver/Pattern/EventLabels). Every Byte that can be deleted and will not be missed is a good Byte
  8. Booooooooooooooooahhhhh! I LOVE THIS TOOL!!!! *ZuluDC making some handstands and has a very big smile on the face* Ps: Hi jassi I love it too to see some of the good hearted peoples from the 911 forum beeing around here. ♪♪♫♪ ♪♪♫♪ ♪♪♫♪ ♪♪♫♪ <-- this is for your other nickname, but sorry! It isn't jazz...just straight rock
  9. On the startpanel the bug with the 'ö' is away In the registry, they are still there. I can see this very good under HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Appearance/Schemes... 'ö' shown as '÷' 'ü' shown as '³' double ss and the big Ö shown as a square (i don't find the ASCII ) The same problem is visible under Services.
  10. I think best would be to have first an eye on the most taken english version. Perhabs better to not having directly a too good heart and willing to kill every bug in every language-version of XP. The day has only 24 hours. When such great tools like yours are coming to the world and it is possible to 'speak' directly to it's creator....there coming masses of people with endless wishes...hopefully not to much feets are rolling over you. ...so i hope too that there will be some time for you over just to close the eyes and sleep. You have done a very impressing great work!
  11. There seems still to be a bug in german version with the 'ö'. In Registry it is sometimes replaced through '³' or '÷'. In startpanel is a entry called 'Zubehör'. I think in english versions it is called 'Accessoires' but i am not sure. *boah...my english is terribly limited*. nlite makes then 2 entrys. One is like it should be (Zubehör), the other one is 'Zubehr'. It has put there only one entry, the Icon that links to calc.exe. Someone has stollen the 'ö' *rofl* This was tested like always in VMWare with a 148MB-Iso *huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu* What to say more? nlite getting better with every version....respect! respect!...it is a work of a genius.... Ohhhhh! If you go along with this tool nuhi, then i think the nlite v.3.0 final generate an XP-Iso that will fit on a floppy-disk
  12. @nuhi What is the difference between my VMWare-Installation and the not Virtual Installation here on my machines?....hmmm...in VMWare i have always a very clean system; clean in the meaning of original; that means a fresh install with all Security-Patch from MS-Update, only small tweaks..really nothing big. The real systems are much more 'modded', the most things away that makes XP so fat...driver.cab, smaller pagefiles.sys laying on other partition, all mdm***.inf's killed, Soundfiles away...and so on. The Framework-Installation everywhere gone with no problem. What the reason is that making the *.iso's under real system does not work is out of my imagination; but like said before...does not care me *smile* To remove IE has work now after building different ISO's; perhabs it was a fault of mine. So i want to say that it wasn't said from me as critism on you or your program...i'am happy with that what the program creates. Oh...just forget: I overall have WinXP Corporate SP1 german installed.
  13. I tried it on w2k. First i thought it does work but it seems to hang in a loop or something else because it never come to the point of finishing for go on then to build the ISO. A short test on both XP-Systems at home for building a strip-down ISO wasn't successfully, but then i do all in VMWare and this works here :-). If i put away to much languages i have this vga850.fon fault too. Creating an ISO without the security-monster IE brings me BSOD and a message about the NTFS-driver ntfs.sys, but who cares *smile*.... For the other rest exept 'Experimental' (i haven't test this in the short time) it seems to work (in vmware ) and i must say it is an impressing tools. I think it has needed brutal many time to create this tool! Thanks for sharing nuhi!!!

  15. Jepp, Javascript has nothing to do with Java. Javascript is a scripting language that runs on Client Side. Java is a programming Language and most of us has the RuntimeEnvironment installed because Java will be compiled directly on Runtime. The Website has some bugs. There exist 2 times the html, head, title, body tags. Don't know exactly; could be because of including other documents. Then i see VB-Script Code too and i think that should not be... <script Language="VBScript"> Sub Language_OnChange() If Form1.Language.Value="English" Then location.Replace "http://" & Form1.ServerName.Value & "/ODD/e_index.asp" ElseIf Form1.Language.Value="Chinese" Then location.Replace "http://" & Form1.ServerName.Value & "/ODD/c_index.asp" End If End Sub </Script> This looks like Code for ASP and has to run on serverside, so that a user that browse the side only should see the completed generated site and not code of VBScript on Clientside in the SourceCode. This site was created with Microsoft FrontPage 5.0. So i would better never ask for a high compatibility *smile*
  16. I don't understand about what it goes exactly but try to say what i know... Active Desktop gives the ability to put html-sites on the desktop. In HTML there are two picture-formats that are able to have transparents: gif & png. JPG can not! The thing you talk about is perhaps the bad behavour by clicking on an icon on the desktop that the background of the icon-text isn't transparent. To bring away the edge by clicking on a link in IE in a normal HTML-site you can take.....(an example)... <a href="http://www.MSFN.org" onFocus="blur()">MSFN</a> Active Desktop does more then just make the 'normal' edge (only IE)..it seems to be CSS-formatting because the color of the desktoplink in changing too by clicking on it. So...perhaps it is somewhere in the files that makes the HTML-design of the surface I think earlyer (Win98) there where some *.htt files for that. (C:\WINDOWS\Web) Sorry...don't know more :/
