i wish I knew how to get rid of these folders permantely. I leave my documents on d:\ for backup reasons and have the my docs folder point to it. I have my own dir structure though and I get bloody sic of clearing out microsofts my ebooks, my pictures and my music folders..

i would use xplode if I had options. I dont want to install the same thing everytime. Checkboxes to select items is what i need.

multiple lines per item would be good. Often need to execute more than one command for different installs. Looks good though

For some strange reason Using $OEM$ for %WinDir%\Web\Wallpapers doesnt work. Any wallpapers seem to disappear. Anyways Im going to compress them and have them install just like any other wallpaper. Thing Im not sure on. Is TXTSETUP.SIF the only file I need to add a line to for each wallpaper to copy or do I have to add it elsewhere? Cheers

I know if you use UnattendedSwitch=Yes in your WINNT.SIF it will skip the Internet Connection Wizard and Add Users Wizard on the first boot. What I want though is to scrap the Internet Connection Wizard and keep the users screen. Making the disc for multiple users so I dont want to hard code the users to add. Any ideas? Cheers

We understand the question. Your asking us to do it for you. Try help yourself and read the truck loads of information on this forum and affiliated sites. We spend months learning and making our own. You want someone to hold your hand and do it for you wihtout showing any sign of effort on your part? Only way that happens is with an extremely nice person or monetary incentive...

When SP2 is released can do they intergrate SP1 with it? Do you have to apply SP1 first then SP2 or can you just apply SP2 off the bat? Cheers

Does anyone that moves their ProgramFiles dir have issues with installshield uninstalls? I've noticed ever since I moved my ProgramFiles and CommonFiles to D:\ that all InstallShield uninstalls are borked..

Even though I Import my Global settings/tweaks at the 12min (CMDLINES) mark some of them just dont stick... And since I have multiple users per machine this is how I now do it... I import everything once in cmdlines... rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall C:\\Scripts\\Settings.inf Then from RunOnceEX on my first boot it auto logs in under administrator.. I have a batch that runs the following.. IF %ComputerName% == %Host% runas /user:%user% "rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall C:\\Scripts\\Settings.inf" > nul This way I can import the settings for different users without actually being logged into that account. Its simple i know.. I'd just never even considered runas... So no flaming my retard idea..

Not sure if anyones interested but I found this today. One of the things that stops my install being 100% automated is the PC name. Take a look at this tool someone wrote. It can generate the PC name based on various strings (ie motherboard vendor) It also allows you to change the PC name from the command line to anything you like. Might be usefull to some.. yea i do use FlashFXP actually but I didn't know it did that. Might have to try it. Still prefer the command line however. You want to install something like postnuke. You can either decompress it and upload the 2000 files which no matter the size takes along time. Or you can upload one 16Mb file which is done in not time and tar -xzvf from shell. Everythings just quicker.

yes thats exaclty what I need. I dont need to run background services or anything. I just prefer to edit my pages through vi rather than edit it, upload it all the time. Much quicker.

Ok. I use an INF for most of my install with the RunOnceEx key. I want to install my drivers and hotifxes on the first boot, then reboot and install my apps. When are the RunonceEx keys deleted? straight after there used? I was going to have my inf that adds the runonce values for the drivers and hotfixes add a value at the end to run another inf next boot, but I'm not sure if this would be cleared or not? Any ideas how I can go about having two boots? Cheers

Well I looked through the reference docs etc and couldnt find anything on this. I format my drives with Partition Magic before my install starts because I use D:\ for %ProgramFiles% However Windows always wants to run scandisk on them before and after the install when ever I do this. Anyone know how I can disable this? Or disable scandisk in general? It does me no good and adds additional time on to the install while it checks disk I know are fine. Cheers
