  1. @larciel: thanks! And btw... replied Wasn't difficult at all
  2. @laricel: yes, I indeed quoted the wrong post
  3. Yes. And I've shortened your post, it was quite HUGE
  4. Please tell me which Sound chip is used in that pc!
  5. @viol8r: thanks. But I don't understand why it DOES work for you and not for me... (and so many others). And at the same time it seems that it's working perfectly for at least 2 persons.... @njdouglas: please try putting everything in C:\BTS_DriverPacks, no matter what name that folder has, but it seems it HAS to be in a folder, not on the root of a drive :s Will fix that... @brian.jorgensen: Well... not very easy but not too hard either. Simply extract the 7zip archive, delete the folder you don't need, rebuild the 7z archive (MUST be like DriverPack_MassStorage_V*.7z, where the asterix can be replaced by anything, else it won't be recognised) and last but not least remove the entries from the winnt.sif file that are no longer required (that's the most nasty job about it...) @rh-phoenix: would you care to look up what controller is used in that Compaq pc? @gilesw, snakesnake: thanks! @ACEOFNOS: I'm afraid that's necessary for textmode used drivers... you have to edit OR the txtsetup.sif file OR edit the txtsetup.oem file to add drivers...
  6. Use the command-line utility i6comp.exe to extract it. i6comp x data1.cab This does the trick!
  7. Hmm... I'll see what I can do about it...
  8. @codejunkie: now I am *STUNNED*... Please post your hardware specs, and most importantly your MassStorage controller.... @laricel: the drivers are indeed only available during setup-mode, with both method 1 and 2. However you can easily fix this, certainly with method 2: 1. Open the file I386\presetup.cmd and look for the command that 'Resets the DriverSigningPolicy' and remove that command or rem it out. 2. Open the file I386\winnt.sif and remove the entry command9="%SystemDrive%\BTS_DP_cleanup.cmd" under the GUIRunOnce section. Now it will work forever @edmoncu: that's a known bug, and as I posted 4 posts earlier, the fix will be put online tonight.
  9. I will put BASE V5.02.9 online tomorrow, don't have the time today. Also new versions of DriverPack Graphics A and DriverPack Sound will be available... with fixed control panels. EDIT: note that the DriverPacks Graphics A and Sound are currently unavailable!
  10. Wrong forum... Should be moved to Unattended Windows
  11. 1. Wrong topic 2. CALM DOWN Did you use nLite? Did you slipstream the DriverPacks using a folder at the root of a partition?
  12. Don't use it for now... Not yet stable.
  13. Doom you... you are right.... Similar to the ATI Control Panel problem... EDIT: after working about an half hour for a fix for the ATI Control Panel, I've found a very easy solution that works for the both of them. Fixed version is online tonight. EDIT: well, that 'very easy solution' is moving the files that shouldn't get compressed to a temporary folder, doing the compression, and moving them back, so they won't get compressed. But this brought me to another issue: space waste on the CD. The ATI cpl uses an ISS setup, which includes some files that are compressed in a very special way, which is why I cannot use regular makecab's. So I'll make a 7z SFX archive of that one. At the other side, the Creative Live!/Audigy drivers do not have such special files, so I can use regular CAB compression on those. I'll just edit the batch file that's executed at GUIRunOnce and let it extract all the files!
  14. So let me get this straight... 1) You are using DriverPacks BASE V5.02.8 and DriverPack MassStorage V5.02.1 2) You ONLY removed the iastor entries from the txtsetup.sif, that were added by the DriverPacks BASE. 3) You ADDED ONLY the iastor drivers, using the txtsetup.oem method. 4) If you test it, NO errors show up, not only when testing in VMWare, but also on a real pc. Am I correct? If I am, please send me al list of all changes! (maybe including the files you used) EDIT: I *do* know about that article (it's even in my bookmarks...), but everywhere is said that you should use a winnt.sif file when installing from CD...
  15. OK found the error: kernel.ex_ is decompressed to kernel.ex_, while it should be compressed... That's why you only have this problem when you're using method 1. (I really don't understand why so many stick to method 1...)
  16. How does the utility get installed? By an application? The drivers too? What kind of setup is used? You can search and find all that yourself Start here to find out more about silent installations of applications.
  17. @RyanVM: hehe dunno I never use that built-in Windows tool... @viol8r: ok glad you've got it solved!
  18. hmm... Then could you please specify? Is there NOTHING installed? Or when you start the control panel, it shows an error? Or...? More specificly: please check if these files exist in the folder %SystemRoot%\system32: -CtPanel.exe -CtCtrlPan.cpl
  19. @viol8r: unattend.txt? Do you have BOTH a winnt.sif AND a unattended.txt file??? BTW... I removed this method from DP MassStorage @rh-phoenix: I know about that...
  20. Please specify in which folder you placed the files? It *SHOULD* be path independant...
  21. @mextrom: yes that's a bug that isn't solved yet... But it only appears because you are using DP MassStorage, while I advised not to use it unless you want to help getting it fixed. @ixpee: told you @Astalavista: please wait untill DriverPack MassStorage works the way it should.... @glent: hehe @snakesnake: I see... I will solve that bug now. Which DriverPack Sound did you use? The problem with Creative Live!/Audigy Control Panel is solved in DP Sound V5.02.1!
  22. @bucketbuster: forgot to say, but that will be added as well! @godan: thanks Will remove that one too!
  23. @njdouglas: WTF?????????????? @viol8r: did you already do a real-life test? And btw... the iastor driver is already included, so why did you remove it and add this specific one?
  24. @sonic & RogueSpear: I will do a test without the 3ware's tonight @snakesnake: what was the error? Still the same BSOD ('STOP: 0x7B' ?) And... I didn't have that ATI Control Panel error! I sucessfully installed with a fully operating Control Panel... And what error is that last one? That error with the REM's? I know about that one, but it isn't critical EDIT: did you use DriverPacks BASE V5.02.8, snakesnake?
