Hi, i hope you guys can help me with this prob. i have a laptop (Presario F557US) came with Vista Basic then i installed windows XP pro on the same partition C:, now when i boot i do not see an option to choose which OS i want to boot from. i would be happy to get some help with this scenario.

Hi.. first let me say, am not sure if am in the right post - so please bear with me. A friend of mine has 1 PC QX6700, 2 dual dvi nvidia video cards, 2gigs of mem, raptor 150 gig and 3 monitors. We are experimenting to see if we can install and run Win XP or Vista, Ubuntu and Mac OS X simultaneously using virtualization, but running all these OS to each monitors(3). so monitor 1 will be running xp or vista and monitor 2 ubuntu & monitor 3 mac os x.

i think i found out the problem, am using server 2003 and i've heard that server 2003 normally has this issue. so am goin XP

am not sure if its possible but in win2000 you can use a .gif image and it will animate, but for some reason am not sure how to do this with XP

log on windows as an admin ( log off account then press ALT + CTRL + DEL then type user: administrator password:admin) then go to the file Right-Click properties then Security then add a user (Both Admin & Yours - then add Owner & Admin Privilages) then check all allowed options (especially full access rights <read, write>), then click OK Then you may delete the file (N.B. process or some words might be slightly different because am not infront of a PC am tell u from memory)

am not understanding what you're trying to say to me.... am just using this drive as storage only, am not installing or running any OS.... just storage, never installed any os

now i have disabled sata from bios, re-installed windows and when i rebooted enabled SATA Base or even RAID it does open then like about 30 seconds after when opening any folder the hour glass started and you have to wait like forever to close or come out of the drive. But if i use the drive in my friends computer it works great... my board is about 4-5yrs old.... Gigabyte GA-7VAXP Ultra MB, do you think i need (Flash BIOS) any special modified updated BIOS?

Why do you think its the drive and it working perfectly in another computer for 2 days now without any problems?

in another post there was someone who said that by removing supercaching with vlite you would be able to install vista with 256mb RAM

thanks for the quick and knowledgable experienced reply... sounds like that would work, but if it does'nt what else can i try jus in case or even worst case scenario...

1. using win xp then i've noticed my computer freezing up frequently and its filled with over 100 GB of data which i did not get to backup on DVD yet.... SATA config jumper set 150 i was trying to resolve the issue with the feezing so i uninstalled my antivirus Nod32 then i disconnect power of SATA then uninstall the Silicon drivers from manage, then when i reboot the machine (still did not connect power yet) the i see new device detected and installed from windows then i power off machine connect my power to SATA then all i see is the part where the little bars runs from left to right from the windows bootup screen. so therefore i cannot logon to windows with the SATA connected. 2. SATA config jumper set NONE / Default. Windows booted with the Drive connected, but i had to go to manager and mark ACTIVE then Add a letter... when i tried opening the drive am just getting the hour glass and nothing happens. am not getting any noise from the hard drive. .......... no os installed just used as storage ......... i really need these files i spent weeks finding and downloading

after installing UXP on my Computer is it possible to leave these files for future re-installation which can be accessed through the boot menu and how may customize my boot menu like this (1. Windows (2. Repair Options ..............=> subs: repair NTDL ............................repair install ............................generic HAL ............................install boot files (3. Install Windows your help would be appreciated any other constructive cmd lines (for troubleshooting) so i may add to the menu thanks
