1. With all the new updates and the desire to auto install programs too my ISO has gotten to big for a CDRW now. I have tried to burn it to a DVD+RW but nero express keeps spitting out the cd and telling me to insert a CDR or a CDRW. Why???? I have made shure I chose the bruner in DVD mode but still no go. What could I be doing wrong?

7. That rollup update is out it is showing in WU as KB891861.

here is the link to it

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en

Could it be slipstreamed in??
8. Thats the same thing I had to do. ATI drivers was giving me a entry point not found error with GDI32.DLL. Some games would not play or install correctly if at all. power DVD did not reconized dx was installed at all. I also expericeing shuting down and rebooting problems (would just lock up and not do anythimg). I now run it from runonce and so far everthing seems ok.

9. Ok....

I put all of the updates in HF1 and win2000 went tilt so I am doing one at a time to find out which one(s) are doing it.

I put WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe in by it self seems to install ok msiexec /? reports v3.01.4000.1823 . With out this update I get msiexec /? reports v3.00.3790.2538 so it is safe to say that this update replaces the WINDOWSINSTALLER-KB884016-V2-X86.EXE update.

UPDATE

I put IE6.0sp1-KB890923-Windows-2000-XP-x86-ENU.exe in HF1 and all is well.

10. Some new updates came out for win2000:

IE6.0sp1-KB890923-Windows-2000-XP-x86-ENU.exe

Windows2000-KB842773-x86-ENU.EXE

Windows2000-KB890859-x86-ENU.EXE

Windows2000-KB893066-x86-ENU.EXE

Windows2000-KB893086-x86-ENU.EXE

WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe

I am assuming they go in HF1.

Would WindowsInstaller-KB893803-x86.exe replace WINDOWSINSTALLER-KB884016-V2-X86.EXE or do I need both?

11. Well every thing is working but......

with win2000 after install is completed I go to install power dvd 5 manually it errors out and says I need to install DX8 or higher. DX9 apears to be installed and working but it does not show under add/remove programs (not shure if thats the problem or not).

with xp I don't have any problems using the same power dvd 5.

I was wondering if any one else has come across this issue.

12. So you are saying that I should use the B_21349?

so I would use...

$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS\B_21349

instead of..

$OEM$\$1\DRIVERS\v09

?

Runnning the util is not the problem the problem is when I do an auto install and a window come up saying can not find files in c:\DRIVERS\v09\.\B_07315. I have to keep changing it all the time. Or am I still doing something wrong?

13. After tring it on a lot of diferent drivers I have found a few gliches....

On SIS video driver the driver does not like the file SiSInst.dll compressed on install win2000 said could not find file. To fix it I just restored this file to original.

On ATI (and some others) there is a sub folder B_09006 were part of the driver is stored. Your utill reports thoughs files as not found. I copied all filles in that fold together with the rest and run the utill again worked fine, but on the install it came up looking for the files in this folder and I had to change the location. After install was complete the driver install did not work.

Any ideas?

14. Hm.... seams like the email is cross wired....
