ok during the install of windows xp. I map to u: \\pentium4\unattended\apps this works fine. it maps. Inside the apps folder there is a firefox folder. in my runonceex.cmd i put REG ADD %KEY%\008 /VE /D "FireFox 1.5" /f REG ADD %KEY%\008 /V 1 /D "U:\Firefox\Firefox Setup 1.5.0.2.exe -ms" /f i get unable to find \firefox\firefox what am i doing wrong.

Yes you got it my server where the apps are located and a client machine i am installing them to . All i want to do is a simple net use in the runonceex.cmd

thanks but i'd rather just use a simple net use. I just don't understand why it didn't map. Do i need to do something special in the RunOnceEx.cmd to make it work? see I have a list of apps i want to install from the network.

I tried makelocalsource switch, still get setup unable to verify drive.

I tried LFNDOS before running the winnt command line. The $OEM$ folder will not copy over.

isn't there a program that i can enable long file names in dos on my boot disk?

I have tried putting the $OEM$ folder inside the I386 folder, AND outside the I386 folder and $OEM$ doesn't copy over. either way I am uber stumped.

yeah exactly i tried to install from the cd it worked fine from the network after starting it from bartpe (not diegostart) I get the error.

it is after the second text mode setup it says windows cannot verify the drive, setup cannot continue

the apps are in $OEM$\$1\install and the $oem$ is outside of the I386 FOLDER

My dos windows xp install from the network works great. But None of the apps install I checked to see if the $oem$ folder is copied over. it is but shows up as $ not $oem$. Has anyone here successfully installed apps from a dos installation of windows xp if so how.?

tried network install of windows xp booted from bartpe disk mapped to a shared folder on my server I started install with U:\I386\WINNT32.EXE /unattend:U:\I386\winnt.sif /syspart:c: /tempdrive:c: it copies all the files i take bartpe out reboot pc it copies more files in text mode and then i get setup was unable to verify the drive That's the show stopper

For the love of god i cannot solve that icfgnt.dll error when installing xp from a network share I have tried every solution in the thread can someone please give me some help. I am at my wits end.

Ok I got windows to install from the network drive. Just plain windows, but none of my apps installed?. I integrated them into my nlite cd, and they work fine from the cd. But now that I tried to put my nlite cd on a network share no apps install. What do I have to do to make it happen?.

I can't seem to get the net use to map to a shared drive when i have tried barts network boot disk The nic loads up ok i choose the netbui protocol once i am at the a:>NET.EXE USE U: \\pentium4\UNATTENDED it says specific computer cannot be found if i use my simple boot disc i can map to the location just fine.
