Windows 8 Developer Preview download available
MagicAndre1981 replied to Mr Snrub's topic in Windows 8
the ISO with the dev tools is locked and can't be used to upgrade. Use the 64Bit version without the tools. -
update the C-Media USB Audio WDM Driver to fix it.

No, it is still NDIS: Total = 1614 for module ndis.sys Elapsed Time, > 1024 usecs AND <= 2048 usecs, 4, or 0.25% Elapsed Time, > 2048 usecs AND <= 4096 usecs, 0, or 0.00% Elapsed Time, > 4096 usecs AND <= 8192 usecs, 5, or 0.31% And this happens when you use Opera. Does it happen with other browsers, too?

Trace Windows 7 boot/shutdown/hibernate/standby/resume issues
MagicAndre1981 replied to MagicAndre1981's topic in Windows 7
don't enable boot logging. Start the normal tracing and next run the xbootmgr command. I read the data with from the Summary XML. The gui doesn't help by hibernation traces so much.- 1,284 replies

I downloaded the ISO with the security updates from September and saw 2 updates in the Vista folder: WINDOWS6.0-KB2570947-X64-CUSTOM.MSU WINDOWS6.0-KB2570947-X64.MSU What is this CUSTOM file? I saw that it includes Vista Sp1 files. So does this version fixes the security issue for Vista Sp1 which is out of support? If yes, why releasing a security fix for an Os with is out of support?

Browsers with Silverlight
MagicAndre1981 replied to xarzu's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
try the Silverlight 5 RC and the Adobe Flash 11 RC, both provide 64Bit support so that you can use a 64Bit Browser. -
Trace Windows 7 boot/shutdown/hibernate/standby/resume issues
MagicAndre1981 replied to MagicAndre1981's topic in Windows 7
no I just want to help users. This makes me happy. The value is still too high: hiberread="72192000" Run Process Monitor, start the logging and now run the xbootmgr command. After Windows resumed, open Process Monitor again, stop the trace and look in the duration column if you see a larger delay. What happens there? Based on IDE\DISKC300-CTFDDAC064MAG______________________0007____\5&816A8CE&0&0.0.0 I would say it runs in IDE mode and not in AHCI. Is this the latest BIOS for your laptop?- 1,284 replies

Trace Windows 7 boot/shutdown/hibernate/standby/resume issues
MagicAndre1981 replied to MagicAndre1981's topic in Windows 7
from what I see the slowdown occurs by writing hiberwrite="55381000" and reading the hibernation file. hiberread="437581000" I see you use a Crucial C300 SSD (C300-CTFDDAC064MAG ATA Device). Do you use the latest firmware? Do you run the SSD in IDE or AHCI mode? If you run in AHCI mode, which AHCI driver do you use? The Intel or the MS driver?- 1,284 replies

atheros ar9285 causing high dpc latency
MagicAndre1981 replied to skolyr's topic in Hardware Hangout
I don't know your Router, so I can't say if this is the cause Can you ask a friend that he can give you his router for some testings? Also try to reset the router, also uninstall the Atheros AR9268 WLAN Card and let Windows reinstall the drivers. Maybe this helps... -
what do you want? A decompiler or do you want to know which of your source code math to the Exe you have?

enable all Offload options and Interrupt moderation in the driver option in device manager. Does it make a difference? -

Trace Windows 7 boot/shutdown/hibernate/standby/resume issues

ok, so you verified that the Search is the cause. You can start the service again and force a rebuild of the search index. Maybe this helps.- 1,284 replies
