  1. May I make a small suggestion? You save\gain nothing by haveing the swapfile on a seperate partition in the same drive. (Maybe even loose performance) You idealy want it on a differetn drive.
  2. No way in hell m8!!! That cd is toast! Sorry... OK let me get a bit more technical... I have used cd's that have a small crack on the out side because there was not much data written on it. But on a CD\DVD the data is written in a circular fashion and the drive spins the cd VERY FAST (@ 8,000+ RPM) so even trying to use your disk in your drive is risky as the disks stabiltiy is BLOWN. You are running a risk of having the disk break into small parts and f-up your drive. AFAIK there is absolutly no way you can recover any data on that disk.
  3. @ revalution = My knowledge of auto-it is very limited. I have only made a handfull of scripts using it. (LOTS of failures it that too) My suggestion is to get scite for auto-it and use the recorder feature from it. That is th eeasiest way I know of to use Auto-it.
  4. I know MSI makes at least a couple kinds.
  5. Ok this is a sample 10 step (Very simple) configuration for CCleaner (a.k.a. Crap Cleaner). This assumes you have all of the WPI files in the WPI folder at the root of your CD. Remember this is just the most basic and required entries for a program! 1.Download the app and place it in the WPI\Install Folder. (CCleaner.exe in this example) 2.Run WPI.exe and click on the “Config” button\Icon area. 3.Go to the very top area above the config section and click on the button that says “Add” 4.Enter in the name section “CCleaner” No quotes! Then click your mouse on the next area to continue. 5.You will notice the Unique ID (UID) section gets automatically filled in for you. You can change it if you like, HOWEVER each entry MUST have a unique ID. None of them can be the same. 6.All apps are selected to be installed by default right from the start so if you don’t want it selected by default you must uncheck this box. 7.Choose a category for your app to be displayed in. If you want the app to be displayed in a category you don’t see, simply chose “Other...” and a box will appear that will allow the entry of you choice. 8.In the Commands tab click on "Add" at the controls area just right of the command line grid and then the the little folder icon and browse to your folder that contains the app, preferably the .\WPI\Install folder then select the CCleaner installer. This will place the appropriate path in the command line. 9.Add the necessary switch(s) for the program to run silently. For CCleaner the switch is /S so you would have your command line looks like so = “"%wpipath%\Install\CCleaner.exe"” /S (This can be easily done for most standard apps by simply clicking on the USSF button on the far right of the command line.) Other switches for apps that USSF cannot identify you can try looking at the forum section here: MSFN Application Installs section. 10.Select the Save and then the Exit buttons and you have now configured your first app!
  6. hmmmmmm... 13. License Agreement: (blah blah blah) 7Customizer is a freeware tool. You could use it only for any personal non-commercial purposes.
  7. Updated. mritter found a bug in the installer path...
  8. Where do you live? I have a 40gig ide 2.5 drive I can send you. (You have to pay for shipping) Or I will trade for the sata one
  9. Don't you mean roflcopter?
  10. There really isn't afaik...
  11. http://www.petri.co.il/activate_vista_aero_on_vista_basic_edition.htm ...OR you follow this guide to do it...
  12. Personally I keep mine in a rar archive so I don't get them mixed up. Only take 1-2 minutes to unpack and BOOM new source!
  13. @ Fernando1 = I was just giving him the drivers for his mobo (As he posted the link to its page) This I did not know as I have integrated my SATA drivers for a VERY long time and not run into a need for seperate inf files.
  14. Run a memtest app...
  15. OK just spent the last couple of hours testing... What I came up with? NOTHING! I tried a VM of XP SP3 vanilla... All was ok. Tried a real XP, still ok... I am outta ideas... I suspect your source is not a clean source. Was it modified (IN ANY WAY?) Before you got ahold of it? Also I see in your screenshots that themes are not running\enabled. When are you running WPI? From the desktop right? Can you provide an explorer screenshot of your disks root?
  16. Man I really dunno. It might be one of the hotfixes. Might I suggest a update pack instead? http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7184 <-- Here is a good one if you are interested in JUST critical updates. I KNOW that works.
  17. Attach your last_session.ini and let me pick at it please. This is definatly NOT normal behavior...
  18. I think I see your issue m8! Grab these drivers: http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Driver/motherboard_driver_raid_nvidia_ck804_bootdisk_xp.exe Run the .exe in a folder of its own. (call it SATA of whatever) It will extract the drivers in that folder... Then delete the .exe. Get your XP disk and update it to SP3!!! (SP2+ adds support for SATA drives, SO I don't think SP1 can even be installed on a SATA drive...) And then integrate drivers as TXTMODE! [sUPER IMPORTANT STEP!]
  19. OK I see now! I have an idea I will run past mritter you will like.
  20. It's definatly a false positive... I would say it is 'cause of the nature of the kind of file it is... I will ask mritter if it can be updated though. Edit: Did some googling and see that this file is commonly tagged by AV's falsely.
  21. Gotcha! I see where the issue is too. Expect a fix from mritter fairly soon.
  22. http://www.wpiw.net/downloads/wpi_v8.0.1.rar I am using a USB just fine. How do you mean you cannot save anything on it? mritter and I was actually discussing further changes to the usb detection and options earlier so changes are going to be made.
