  1. I searched around a bit and KB897338 contains this file. HFSLIP needs to be updated for it. Is this a hotfix you're including?
  2. I had a look at KB900485-v2 the other day. It doesn't look like there are new files on top of the first version so it should still be supported. I'll try to find a download link for the WGAN proggie.
  3. This is a new file that comes with one or more of the hotfixes you add on top. Can you tell me where that file ends up on the system? Is it the SYSTEM32 directory?
  4. Quite honestly... I'm not sure I understand what you mean. HFSLIP adds a line into TXTSETUP.SIF and DOSNET.INF to copy over verclsid.exe which is a new file. Secondly, support was added for the ASMS subfolder (which is needed for XPSP1). As far as I can see, both "fixes" are still needed for KB908531-v2...
  5. If it doesn't initiate a secondary install routine you can get away with START/WAIT: start/wait msiexec /i ...... taskkill /f /im msiexec.exe
  6. Is that to me? What page?
  7. Just an FYI... An "internal build" () of HFSLIP integrates the KB911562 hotfix into MDAC_TYP.EXE. Windows Update doesn't complain but it's still not 100% ready for publication. The problem is that, while Windows installs MDAC 2.8 SP1, a dialog comes up informing the user that "Exception Pack" is going to be installed. You can only click "OK" or "More info". After you click OK, installation proceeds normally. I'm going to see if this can be fixed with a reg hack prior to installation. If anyone knows more about this... Speak out...
  8. That was quick...
  9. The hotfix lists are based on what appears on Windows Update. Most of the updates you mention are only available from the MS Download Center. These should be OK but are untested (some are actually useful, haha): KB319740-v5 KB884883-v8 KB885222-v2 KB886677 KB886716-v2 KB889527-v3 KB889673 KB890831 KB893357-v2 KB896626-v2 KB897663 KB898900-v2 KB906569-v2 KB907265 KB907865 KB908521 KB913538 KB914841 These are for XPSP1: KB885626-v2 KB914798 These are superseded: KB887797 KB894391 KB900930 KB905915 KB917425 Not sure: KB896427-v3
  10. I made a silent install package using IExpress. The program installs fine but a dialog comes up right in the middle of it informing me that "Exception Pack" is going to be installed which I need to click away by pressing OK (the other option is "More Info"). Is there any way to get rid of it?
  11. I think extracting them into SYSTEM32 is enough but HFSLIP also installs the CAT files.
  12. That's good news. You have a nice week too. Add this to HFSLIPWU.INF:HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP2\KB833987","Type",0,Update HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP2\KB914798","Type",0,UpdateYou can put it at the bottom.
  13. No. It was implemented in 60423d and refined in 60423e.
  14. Odd. Either way, I had the problem with 60423e but it's fixed now.
  15. Done (60423f)
  16. It might be a problem on HFSLIP's part. The "return to uncompressed *.CPI/*.CPL files" update in 60423e caused two system files to not get properly updated: wuaucpl.cpl from WUA20 and msmq.cpl from the Rollup. The new test release (60423f) only leaves *.CPL files uncompressed if they are coming from HFEXPERT or HFAAO.
  17. I could give it a shot some time. Would you mind providing me your PRODSPEC.INI file?
  18. @murvun... Try the latest. Hope it helps... I included the two missing reg keys you mentioned so how come HfNetChk still isn't happy? You said that's all that's needed...
  19. HFSLIP isn't compatible with that. I did notice that an HFSLIPped WinXP disk works "better" in that regard; I did it recently and only WMP10 and about three or four hotfixes needed to be reinstalled. For the CDs to be used in every situation, HFSLIP needs to integrate all file versions within a hotfix and stash them *somewhere* on the CD. Count at least one duplicate per file that's updated with a hotfix...
  20. You're welcome
  21. @Camarade_Tux: When you include MDAC_TYP.EXE, the hotfix won't take. You need to apply it manually after setup finishes. It's the same deal as with WMP10 on XPSP1 (and on XPSP2 when it's in the HFSVCPACK_SW folder). @murvun: Thanks. I'll take a look at it.
  22. @Camarade_Tux The MDAC_TYP.msi problem was solved in 60423c. Would you mind giving me the REG fixes you included? I'm only doing it for XPSP1. Are you talking about the black DOS boxes?
  23. It's released
  24. The command that's used in 60422e makes Windows setup go through without complaining (an installation dialog for MDAC 2.8 even pops up briefly) but Windows Update later asks to install the hotfix for MDAC 2.5 so it's indeed not fully installed. I'm gonna let MDAC_TYP.EXE go the same route as UPHClean.msi for Win2K. I'm testing it now. Stay tuned...
  25. It's to be released. I wanna do one last test with MDAC_TYP and then I'll put it in the wild.
