  1. OK. If you are interested, you can try test release 70720a. It supports a new variable in HFANSWER.INI named DELCATS_OVERRIDE.
  2. Trust me... I know *exactly* what you mean...
  3. Kind of defeats the purpose of a slipstreaming tool, doesn't it? If the extras still work after applying SP2, there must be a way to install SP2 beforehand as well. So you spent all that money, and then you buy a Mac. Crazy people....
  4. I'm convinced it does something "behind the scenes" on computers with a Realtek audio chip but I still didn't get the chance to get a hold of a system like that. I'd still like to get a WUx.TXT file from sabregreen to be sure it isn't that.
  5. HFSLIP.CMD looks fine to me. If you still have the system operational, check if any of these files are floating around in the system32 folder: iesetup2.dll mshtml2.dll msratng2.dll inseng2.dll webchck2.dll imgutil2.dll inetcpl2.cpl pngfilt2.dll Are you letting HFSLIP delete the CAT files? Maybe they are required for IE7. Try a run without deleting CAT files (DELCATS=).
  6. Can you give me a WUx.TXT file? I want to verify that it's not a file version problem.
  7. Doesn't "caveat" have a negative connotation?
  8. There probably won't be any more updates (except support for the missing languages). Sorry it didn't work for you. Tested and working for: English, Dutch, Japanese, French and German.
  9. It may be that Windows setup is tripping over the underscore, or the combination of the number with the underscore. Does the problem persist if you remove it?
  10. This might imply that the delayed file renames are not taking place. Can you ZIP HFSLIP.CMD from SOURCESS\I386\SVCPACK and SVCPACK.INF from SOURCESS\I386?
  11. These are supposed to be given their original name back by Windows setup during txtmode copy. Can you attach a zip of your new TXTSETUP.SIF?
  12. Sorry about that. Get version 6.
  13. 4th cumulative time zone update reworked for use with HFSLIP Features * includes the 4th cumulative time zone update * includes tzchange.exe for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 * better sorting of new time zones in dropdown list during Windows setup (they were displayed at the top before) Supported languages All languages in which KB942763 was released are supported except Hebrew. People who use a Hebrew source are advised to place the Hebrew version of KB942763 in the HFSVCPACK_SW1 folder instead. Windows 2000 For Windows 2000, you are at least getting all of the updated time zone settings from the 4th cumulative time zone update except the update for the "Mexico Standard Time 2" time zone. Windows 2000 doesn't have it so slipstreaming the updates alone would be useless. However, for some languages, all "Mexico Standard Time 2" time zone settings are added as well as several descriptions of other time zones (the ones shown in the dropdown menu) in order to "upgrade" Windows 2000 to the level of WinXP/2K3. Already supported: Chinese Traditional, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Portugal) and Swedish. Not supported: Arabic, Chinese Simplified, Czech, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish and Turkish. Help adding support for languages that aren't covered If you're running a Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 system in one of the unsupported languages, you can help update this time zone package. It's really simple: 1) Export the entire "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Time Zones" registry key to a .REG file 2) Compress (ZIP) the .REG file and attach it to a new post in this thread An updated version of the time zone package for HFSLIP will then be released as soon as possible. How to use this package with HFSLIP 1) Remove KB942763, KB933360, KB931836 and any other time zone update you may have from the HF folder 2) Remove HFSLIP_PRE_TZ2.* and HFSLIP_PRE_TZ3.* (if you used these) from the HFTOOLS folder 3) Download HFSLIP_PRE_TZ4_v6.zip and extract its content into the HFTOOLS folder 4) Run HFSLIP as usual Changes in v6 Updated tzchange.exe for XPSP2 and XPSP3 Sri Lanka time zone is displayed in the correct position Changes in v5 Corrected errors in Polish file (thanks to definicjaCEPA) Changes in v4 Corrected errors and changed "Caucasus" to "Kafkasya" in Turkish file (thanks to eryen) Changes in v3 Danish Windows 2000 time zone upgrade (thanks to ivans2605) Swedish Windows 2000 time zone upgrade (thanks to CEoCEo) Changes in v2 Added support for - Arabic (thanks to Opera for decoding and Microsoft for translating Sri Jayawardenepura) Chinese Simplified (thanks to Opera and Microsoft) Chinese Traditional (thanks to L-F and Opera) Greek (thanks to bfc_xxx and Opera) Japanese (thanks to Opera) Korean (thanks to bynkook and Opera) Russian (thanks to Opera and Microsoft) Changes imported from the previous time zone packages for HFSLIP - Renamed "Caucasus_Display" string to "Armenian_Display" for convenience - Danish: updated Pacific_Display string - French: updated Armenian_Dlt string - Italian: updated Caucasus_Common_Display and Montevideo_Display strings - Portuguese (Brazil): fixed problem in Central_M_Dlt, Mountain_M_Dlt and Pacific_M_Dlt strings - Portuguese (Portugal): updated SA_Pacific_Display, Mountain_M_Std and Mountain_M_Dlt strings - The UTC offsets in the Italian version are represented in this way by default: "GMT + <h>.<mm> h". The three instances where the + sign is glued to "GMT" (Azerbaijan, Middle East & Jordan) were updated to match that standard. - Fixes for several bugs in the French version of KB931836. Cities are missing, some are switched, and two (Baku and Beyrouth) even appear in two time zones! All other languages follow the English time zone update with regard to the cities so I fixed these errors in the French time zone update in this package.
  14. @bujo696-- Edit: see here
  15. Switching 2 and 3 should've worked. What are the complete commands you used?
  16. I didn't edit the post, no. I had "displaylang=es" in the link from the beginning. No harm is done to your system if you use the English time zone update. The only difference is that the descriptions are in English. Well... I'm not sure what the problem is then. Can you zip HIVESFT.INF from SOURCE\I386 or SOURCESS\I386? Maybe that can give me a clue.
  17. XPS update for .NET 3.0 and .NET 3.0 language pack
  18. @450: Don't rename these files. Just download and run SNM. I have downloaded the Japanese language pack for .NET 3.0 and the Japanese XPS update and it should work. OuTmAn: Actually, the compression ratio is overall better with SNM (if not changing to MED or LOW). The difference with those pre-made packages is that many files have been stripped out of them which isn't possible without hacking the MSI installer within.
  19. Fixed in 70714b. I was doing it manually before and now let HFSLIP take care of it. Well... "When the machine beats its care taker..."
  20. I got it to work for WinXP, but a "The memory could not be read" error shows up at the end of the Post-Setup Wizard. I need to figure out if this is coincidence or not. The "Windows Update Menu Text" hack doesn't seem to work for IE7. Oh well...
  21. Hold on. It looks like this only works on Win2K. Even the title change from "Windows Update" to "Microsoft Update" fails on WinXP. I updated the info in the test releases thread.
  22. OK. I see there is a possible bug in the Windows XP version of the Spanish time zone update, but I'm not sure it's the source of your problem. Can you remove WindowsXP-KB931836-x86-ESN.exe and use WindowsServer2003-KB931836-x86-ESN.exe instead?
  23. bujo696-- This is not normal as XibaD points out, at least not for the Spanish time zone update. Can you make a ZIP of HFSLPHIV.INF from SOURCESS\I386 and post it here? I can only duplicate this behavior by changing the time zone edits from ANSI to Unicode but HFSLIP doesn't do that.
  24. Alright. This has been asked a few times before so I looked at it again. It's more simple than I thought. Please use the new test release but read the instructions in the changelog. @EmRoD Thanks for the tip on the link title change. It's now included in HFSLIP. FYI: "wusetup.cab" is not supported.
  25. Place in SNM folder: KB934238 for .NET 3.0 KB934238 for Japanese language pack for .NET 3.0
