  1. Bug free? I wish... Coming up is the final round of WUA fixes: French, Finnish and Turkish. WUUHAA! The "% done" progress indicator comes with the MAKECAB utility (part of Windows) which HFSLIP uses to compress the files. To my knowledge, DOS does not provide a means to display the type of progress indicator you're after....

    New logo to use

<offtopic>CRTs (and 15" TFTs) follow the 4:3 resolution standard so you should be using 1280x960. 1280x1024 is for TFT screens that are more rectangular (17" and higher).</offtopic> Oh... You're in the picture too?

    New logo to use

You noticed that? I can see a little gloss when I zoom in to 300% with Opera, but I can't distinguish it at 100%. Then again... My screen resolution is 1280x960 on a 17" CRT...
  4. As said, I installed it from the Administrator account. What I actually should've done is: 1) Log in as Admin, unreg LegitCheckControl.DLL and delete it 2) Log in as Power User and copy the new file into the system32 folder 3) Login as Admin and register the file
  5. You just gotta love this computer-like feedback...Thanks, Hal

    New logo to use

It only works in modern web browsers, though. Alpha-transparency needs to be supported. Edit... 8-bit non-transparent version with blue background (downgraded for compatibility with IE): Just one question... I can't save the extra bandwidth so if you want to use either logo please don't link to the one(s) on my server...
  7. The latest version (60307) should fix this.
  8. Try the latest final version. I believe it's fixed.
  9. And it shows in your signature...
  10. I wouldn't know. I've only been a mod for a few days. As far as I can see, the edits consisted of putting the long lists of reg tweaks in CODE boxes; the text doesn't seem to be altered or censored.
  11. That's why I called it a bitter pill...
  12. That means you got two problems with WUA. The first was fixed... Now the second needs to be fixed. Is WindowsUpdateAgent20-x86.exe located in your HF folder?
  13. It's fixed now. The file I placed into the system32 folder manually had only Admin and SYSTEM rights. When I removed it and let the ActiveX control install it, LegitCheckControl.dll was copied to the system32 folder and was given Admin, SYSTEM and Power User rights.
  14. HFSLIP_60307-test2.7z KB912945 should be properly covered now as well. It's the "w03a2409.dll problem" that's also there in KB890046; the file is named differently for other languages. KB904942 is not an update for IE7 but for Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express. A feature of Outlook (Express) will be screwed up when you install IE7 and this update is supposed to fix that.
  15. I think TommyP is referring to Step 15. Edit: Gah... I should reload this page before posting something... ;-)
  16. I installed the new LegitCheckControl from the Administrator account and I can download WGA-protected files fine from there. But, when I try to download WGA-protected files from the Power User account, Internet Explorer pops up an ActiveX control asking me to install "Windows Genuine Advantage". When I click "Yes", the thing just gets stuck. What gives? Can validation only be performed from the Administrator account now? This problem wasn't there with the previous versions of LegitCheckControl.dll...
  17. I suppose you mean "60305". The only thing I changed in the updated 60306 over the original 60306 was that line in the ERROR_REPORT.TXT section... I didn't touch the HFCLEANUP section in 60306 (or any other version for that matter) so it's probably better to head over to the HFCLEANUP thread, yes.
  18. Try this test version: HFSLIP_60307-beta1.7z. I made some changes in the Windows Update Agent part (Spanish and Portuguese) and updated the handling of KB890046. I'll check into the others...
  19. Oh goodie... Yet another file name swap...@TommyP: I'll do this one if it's OK by you.
  20. Well... I need to know if it's in ASCII or Unicode. If you don't know how to find that out, you can always attach the file here.
  21. When you open PRODSPEC.INI in Notepad and choose File>Save As, what is the dropdown box for Encoding set to?
  22. "wua*.* not on slipstreamed disk" ???? Where do you see that error message?
  23. Open the file PRODSPEC.INI from SOURCE\I386 in Notepad and scroll down. Can you copy and paste the "Localization=" line? Thanks...
  24. Hey, it was 6am here and I've been up for 22 hours... I re-released this one. You should get a correct listing in ERROR_REPORT.TXT now....
  25. I'm an avid Opera fan too, but.... http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=63290
