  1. This may sound very silly..

But my WPI application doesn't launch...

I don't see any messages nor nothing

I've recently discovered this awesome program.

    I used RunonceX..

    Appreciate any help..

Do I need another program to launch this ???

    like Java?

  2. I had this problem when I reinstalled a few weeks ago. So after I let it install on the storage partition I just formatted the old windows installation partition through start run/compmgmt.msc go to storage/disk management rebooted and voila it detected an empty partition, installed on c: and the data partition became d: again.

    Don't really understand what u mean .....

this is a hot topic since it received many answers right???

  3. I created My partition as Primary Partition!

I made a mistake by saying it was an extended partition..

Primary Partitions are bootable which is why the OS switched to it

So should I create it as an extended partition?

  4. How can I hide the partition???

    Partition Magic???

    BY THE WAY,

I format my second partition using the 'COMPUTER MANAGEMENT'

    that windows has in it......

You said you had Windows in the 1st partition, Data on the 2nd partition before you started.

I'm not clear what the current situation is, whether you did in fact install Windows on the Data partition too.

Anyway, you can use PM or Acronis Partition Manager to hide the second partition.

I reinstalled windows in the 2nd partition since xp switched it to the second partition

I simply reinstalled it where the previous xp os was which was in the second partition..

Currently I have Xp in my D: drive and my data in the C: drive

But I am going to format it again...

All I want to do is avoid this again which is why I was wondering if I should use the Partition Magic instead of the computer management in WinXP

  5. Yes I did it as EXTENDED partition

    Is that the problem?

Would u suggest creating my other partitions with a third-party partitioning software like "partition magic"?

  6. What happened was that the first partition which was the xp partition had the drive letter "C" and when I tried to reinstall windows it jumped to the letter "D" and the Data drive switched to drive letter "C"

    That is what happened

  7. THANKS FOR THE SPEEDY REPLY...

When I first installed it, the xp was in the first partition then when I tried reinstalling it, it jumped to the second partition....

  8. Hey I got a real problem here...

I install my legal copy of xp frequently. I use a hard disk where I partition it in two...

I place my Windows OS in the "C:" partition and my Data in the "D:" Partition

I hope I am making myself clear here...

Anyway the problem comes when I want to reinstall windows with my xp bootable cd

When I get to the part where the partitions are visible, THE WINDOWS XP PARTITION JUMPS TO THE DRIVE LETTER "D" WHILE MY DATA TURNS INTO THE DRIVE LETTER "C"

I tried other versions of xp and the same problem occurs...

I don't like my Xp OS being in the other partition...

Its only normal if it is in "C:"

I hope someone knows what the problem is here... I bet many of you have encountered this as well

Whenever I try to change the drive letter in the partition the windows crashes..

Do any of you know how to properly change the Drive letters of the partitions that are in use??

  9. I just quick formatted the wrong partition on my NTFS formatted hardisk.

I had all my data on the C: drive now I can't recover the data I want...

    Anyway to unformat????

I already tried using RECOVER MY FILES 3.94

I don't seem to find what I want to find..

  10. I was reinstalling my xp on my hardisk with 2 partitions. My first partition had all my data (40Gb) and I reinstalled xp on top of it after I performed quick format on it...

Any idea how to unformat or recover data?

I have tried (recover my files 9.4).. I don't see the data I need, it appeares all scattered...

    :}

  11. Try changing the Unattended mode to "GUIATTENDED" or "FULLUNATTENDED" instead of the default Hide

Also, try to remove these lines from your WINNT.SIF:

    NoWaitAfterTextMode = 1

    NoWaitAfterGUIMode = 1

  12. So I guess the best way to get full-proofed tweaks is to run your own tweaks in a .reg file right?

Ok.. thanks for your info. guys....

    Appreciate the help.. :D

IF anybody has the time, can u post me a list of the registry tweaks..

    Much thanks :)

  13. Does anyone have the problem where the tweaks that are checked in nlite don't take effect?

I placed some visual tweaks like "shadow under menus" etc. and they don't seem to take effect.

    Any ideas?

  14. I seem to be having problems in my nlite xp installation

I received an error which said "nlite.inf" not found but I cleared that up by using

nlite's unattended feature. I was using my own created WINNT.SIF

Seems to me that my own user created unattended install causes some problems with nlite.

Anyway now my new problem is that after my xp installation is done it automatically logs on to the ADMINISTRATOR account and on top of this my tweaks do not seem to take effect. For example the

    visual effects tweaks..

    Would really appreciate some help

  15. I just slipstreamed with the integrate command in cmd.

If you install xp every day on many different machines it is

    a hassle.

I really just want the xp to work good

Does nlite provide the function to add video drivers?
