Yeah, i've tested the drop with a laptop, and i get nothing. It just sucks, because the drop is in a very convenient location. I have no idea how to replace that cable, because it runs though the wall, from the 2nd floor down to the first.

All the drops were in the house before i moved in, so it might be a bad cable. If it's a faulty cable, is there a way to test it with two laptops by plugging one into drop 2, and another into drop 3? I don't want to buy any fancy network equipment. All the drops are located in different rooms, and have tested drop 3 with a laptop, so it has nothing to do with XBOX's settings. What could it be besides a bad cable?

After a few evenings of messing with it, i didn't find anything. And, i don't really want to install any the bloated software from SoundBlaster just for that one feature. Thanks for your help though!

I have a pair of Logitech USB headphones. The thing i hate, is that when i plug them in, i have to change the sound settings manually to have the audio play though the headphones. Most times i even have to restart the application to get the sound to play though the headphones. And when i unplug them, i have to go though the same thing. Is there a way to do this automatically? There's gotta be some piece of software out there that could listen to a "Headphones Plugged In" and "Headphones Unplugged" events and take the proper action. I mean, it works well with plain analog headphones (i know it's different) so why not USB?

I couldn't get the hotfixes to integrate with nLite, i was getting the exact same error. I'll post a list of files i am trying to integrate later tonight.

Here's my problem I make a copy of my xp cd, integrate sp2 into it using nLite and make an iso. That ISO gets installed in a virtual PC just fine When i try to integrate hotfixes, it no longer works, and produces an error. I can't read it, but it says something about virtual memory. I integrated the hotfixes manully using /integrate. Some didn't work, but i just ignored those. What could the problem be?

Well, now i am sure it's a hotfix that's breaking things, but i don't know which one. I ran a simple test with just SP2 integration, and unattended setup and it seems to work just fine. Which hotfix could it be? It's driving me nuts.

I started with the default 128, which should be sufficent, but bumped it all the way up to 2GBs with no luck. The Virtual HD i am using is around 10GBs.

i went ahead and tried runnin the ISO in VMWare as well, and i get the exact same error. Also, i tried installing XP straight from the CD, and that seemed to have worked properly. So, i am pretty sure nLite is doing something to change that.

I am trying to update an old XP disk that i have with SP2 and all the latest hotfixes, but when i try to use the created ISO in Virtual PC, it comes up with an error, and reboots after it's done copying the setup files. I am not sure what the error says, since it reboots very fast, but it's something about not having enough virtual memory. My .ini file is attached, in case it helps. Last_Session.ini

Hello I've been trying to get voice recognition working on my PC for the last two days. After installing the speech SDK, and some other stuff, i can't get it to work Once i started reading things, all of the troubleshooting would start with: Go to Control Panel, and then click Speech Well, i don't have speech in my control panel. I am using XP Pro with SP2 I would appreciate any help with putting the "Speech" into Control Panel Thanks in advance.

ok, i hope someone can clarify, i spent all of last night combing these forums trying to find out the answer, but can't seem to find anything. I want what everyone here wants. Create a CD that once it's finished, i can just use the PC and not worry about installing anything.

What is the correct way to install that hotfix? And again, sorry if this has been asked, but the search yields nothing

Hey all, since there's an introduction forum, i guess i'll go ahead and say hello I think i came accross this website using the stumble extention for firefox, and currently i spend all my time with the unattended setup guide. I've created a basic one in just three hours time the first time i tried, and just used that as a clean install on my sisters machine. I am creating a more customized setup for myself, and so far didn't have to ask a single question in the forum. The guide is well written, and where it fails, search fills in. This looks like a good place, i might stay a while.
