Ok, Hope this helps, When you set up a new account after you choose the name and security level(Admin) it then asks you if you want to protect your files too, Here in lies the problem, After you go in and remove the password the file protection remains, Hope this explains it better.

When I pull a hard drive out of a dead computer and hook it up to my main computer with the goal of retrieving files I sometimes find if they put a password on their files and choose to protect the files I can not access the files to save them, Has anyone run into this and found a way around it. Even if you delete the password it does not remove the protection.

I have the Belkin F5D8053 N and the XP 64 bit driver is on the disk, I just loaded it and made a connection without problem, I went on line to find a shortcut to the drivers but could not find the 64bit drivers on line. I could try to Email them to you.

If that doesn't work stop by your nearest Salvation Army thrift store and get a regular keyboard, they are normally sold for a $1.99

Don't mean to butt in here but what I've done in the past to retrieve info from a corrupted OS is to boot to the XP disk and install a system over the original, not a repair but a second OS on the same partition, it will warn it's not a good idea but I go ahead anyway. You end up with two sets of files but you can access the old files to retrieve your valued files such as pictures or music. This is usually a last resort for me.

Hi, I set up windows virtual machine 2007 64 bit to test a windows XP 64 bit disk, I'm using An Asus A8N Sli SE mother board running XP 64 bit but when the virtual starts to load I get that the OS can only be installed on a 64 bit system. When setting up the virtual machine doesn't give a 64bit option just windows XP. The only other option I see that is higher is for vista. What can I do to test this Disk? Just tried setting up a VD using the Vista option, Nothing. Help Please

Is it possible to integrate net framework into an XP disk?

What I have done is to integrate the sata drivers using Nlite, The drivers are then downloaded at the onset, this has worked on every sata laptop I've downgraded so far. The sata drivers do not interfere with loading an OS on IDE drives.

I always update everything when installing a new system but I don't think that answers my question. I would rather put XP on it but I don't Think I will be able to use all the Memory

I'm putting together a dual xeon server. The board can hold up to 8 Gigs of ram, I'm pretty sure XP will only see 3 gigs+, my question is am I correct to assume I would need to install windows server 2000 to get the full ram, the reason I say 2000 is I have a copy of that. Thanks, any advice would be appreciated as I'm new to server building.

Hi, I have the beta SP3 and when I stream it in and then try to install it on my computer as a stand alone it is missing some file to continue, Does not tell me which file it's missing, Does anyone know anything about why this is happening? If install the beta after I set up OS everything is fine.

I have been having trouble for some time now getting the latest update pack from his site, RVMUpdatePack2.1.11, got about half today, is something wrong at his site?

Was wondering if anything can be done to the install disks made by manufacturers like HP. I have a set from a computer I no longer have and I thought the recover feature was nice. Is it possible to remove the feature that restricts use to only their computers and remove some of the less desirable features. I bought these disks but can't use them anymore.
