Hi, It should work that with the modem and the routers piwer supply unplugged you connect the modem to the wan port on the router and connect the PC to one of the other ports then plug in the modem and after thats up plug in the the router this should be all there is to it, If your running XP Sp2 I believe there is a firmware upgrade for that, if none of this works call their tech support at linksys 1-866-242-8558, if the tech support person sounds lost just hang up and call back you will get someone else.
