hi, we have a domain with one DC, yesterday my RID master role faild to start. i read all doc about rid and FSMO. but i have 2 Q : 1- i think i can not biring DC back ? ( do i lost every thing ) 2- i install new AD with same information that last AD had ( netbios name, IP, admin with same password ...), every thing was well, then i restore SYSTEM STATE BACK UP from 1 week ago ( my server was working well 1 week age), after restart DC, all users were back, but still RID master role failed ? i wana know dose system stat back, up FSMO role ? if not why again i see this error ? any experince would help ?

thankx both are currect, for more info : if your DHCP server has one NIC with two assinged IP address : 192.168.10.5/24 192.168.11.5/24 and with DHCP Scope : 192.168.10.11-192.168.10.254 192.168.11.11-192.168.11.254 only Clients that are in this segnement ( 192.168.10.0/24 )can Renew their IP address becaouse DHCP will answer only to primary Ip address . ang PCs in segnemet 192.168.11.0 can not take IP address from DHCP !

hi every body ? 1- what is diffrent between "DNS Server (006)" and "DNS Domain Name (015)" in DHCP\Scope option ? 2- can i use one DHCP server with 2 NIC for leasing IP address to, two segnemet ? i didn't see any option in DHCP that assing specific scope to specific NIC ? any experiance and technical guid will be usefull.

thanks for replays i wana reinstall AD on BDC and then istall AD and make it as GCS ? on my BDC i have Exchange so i afraid if i unistall AD it make a problem for exchange server ? is it right that if i unistall AD it will disable GC for using Exchange ?

i think that in PDC it sould be check mark because in PDC, Exchange server is running so Global catalog must be enabled ? so i must chek BDC for enabling in GC? is it right prey ?

hi we have 2 domain controller (windows 2000 advance). every thing was good until now. when i wana make new Object in BDC i recive this error : "Windows cannot validate the uniqueness of this proposed user name with global catalog server because: The server is not operational. Windows will create this user account, but the user can log on only after the username is verified to be unique. " I don’t have any experience in this. Please help me to solver this problem.

hi i find out that by useing right click and use "Run As..." menu ( By using local administrator or powerusers username and password ),network users can execute CAD2005 without any problem. my Q is that how can i give network user (domain users) power users permission ?

hi does any body deploy AutoCAd 2005 ? -i deploy it but i do not know why each time users (network users with Local profile ) want run CAD2005 first it must configure itself and then execute. it take about 4 min ? -the other problem is that users with mandatory profile coulde not run CAD because all profile do not load (transfer) form server to workstation and it cause some neccesary file that CAD need not be avalibale when cad wana load ? how can i configure profiles that first load all files and then peremit users to logon ? thankx dears.

hi if u wana use group policy for enabaling Remote Desktop do it : GP\computer comfiguration\administrative tamplates\network\network connection\windows firewall\domain policy\ basic mode : --> windows firewall:allow Remote Desktop Exception Enable it and type the IP address that will connect to this computer. example : 192.16812.1,192.168.168.12.2 <-- i allow anly 2 computer trafic exceptet by firewall for using Remote Desktop Advance Mode : -->windows firewall: Define Port exception enable it, click show,in show contents windows click add iwana allow telnet connection or other service that u know which port dose it work,> port:TCP|UDP:Scope:Eanbed|disabled:portname < 23:TCP:192.168.12.1,192.168.12.5:enabled:telnet

hi i am looking for software that report who is log in to my domain ? and also report the time,user name, computer name that he\she logs on, which software dose he\she use, and some other details ? does any solution that without install any software i could see who is log on to my domain ? (only computer name and user with no more details)
