I have the same error.. DCOM doesnt start... as in it says its starting.. but it never does do i reinstall windoze?

My new 300gb Sata II Seagate died on me in 4 days pops clicks beeps the works. the system wouldnt go beyond "verifying DMI pool data" my main system drive.. which is a 80gb Deathstar was also giving problems but it turned out to be the ATA Cable.

I hope i'll be able to strip down vista as much as i could XP. Using stuff like nLite etc. I'd rather use my resources in ensuring that all my appz run nicely than having a super sexy looking interface that slows everything down. Looking atenhanced multi-threading using dual+ cpus Cheers

thanks for the help bruuuv... but the thing is its not reading DVD-Rs it recognises all blanks..

do not use InCD Have had Wintools installed since i isntalled windows.. almost 10 months back... havent changed nething as such ... u think it needs hacked firmware..updated it to the latest official version.. the thing is.. these disks worked like 2 months back.. backup of old stuff...

sorry my bad.. i wasnt specific enough.. ok here goes.. its a NEC ND 3500 Drive. It recognises blank disks. bust has problems reading discs written by it (single session..no multi session discs) these are regular DVD-Rs RiTek, Memorex, etc... most of them read using Iso Buster but not using Windows Explorer..even nero says they are empty and they work find in other computers/standalon dvd players (if they are DVD-Videos) im using windows XP

Hi, I have DVD RW Drive Reading problems.. Windows does not recognise the discs, but they read with Isobuster. These discs were written with the same Writer.. any suggestions?
