  1. Ok heres what I have so far on my custom CD: Windows XP Pro Winrar Aim WinISO Directx9 WMP9 1 custom visual style Msn Messenger JavaVM Google Toolbar Nero6 windows xp power toys plus some other small files that total about 100K or so, such as reg fixes, etc. All this comes out so far to be. about 474MB of Iso goodness. I've removed the standard folders i didnt need, such as the upgrade and migration folders, as well as the value added folders. But there are a ton of drivers I don't really need installed, as well as all the other language files other than english... I've seen some posts on here about slimming these down, but no final how-to guides yet.. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd like to be able to slap either photoshop or office on this 700 meg CD as well, and maybe a few other things, plus I'd like to have xp install as fast as possible by removing all these extra things I'll never need. Any suggestions? Thanks Evan
  2. OK i just installed an icon pack, and now after reboting, every time i double click a folder, it opens search....instead of the folder... i've tried going through file type window and seeing if anything was set there, and i've spent about 2 hours screwing with my registry to fix it. I have a laptop running xp as well (my desktop is xp by the way) and i've copied all folder settings in the registry to my desktop's registry, but it still opens search.. does anyone have any idea how to change the default double click behavior back to open? Thanks in advance Evan
  3. i wouldnt mind hosting it for you, as long as you don't mind having the domain name before it "modelxposure.com" lol I'm a photographer, but i have tons of webspace, so just email me a copy at evan AT modelxposure.com (you of course know what the AT symbol is) and i'll be glad to host it for you.
  4. It's Auto Partition... not partitian haha just giving you a hard time... you have a few spelling mistakes tho... can I get credit for spell checking in the help: about dialog? awesome looking program though. now only if it could create the batch files too.
  5. try using vmware workstation. I use it, and the first time i ran my custom xp pro cd in vmware, it hung at that point too.. simply shut down the virtual machine... started it back up, and install worked fine from then on. just try restarting it.. install script probably just screwed up or something... freak accident. i don't think your dll is wrong though, just try doing it again. edit: i think you also need unattend switch to be on...but i'm not sure for your setup.. its on in my setup.
  6. Sung Hi Xp warning not suitable for youngsters!!!!! 18+ please
  7. Ok so I've followed the guide on the site, as well as some things in here, and my iso currently sits at about 535megs, with some extra programs set to install, like aim, kazaa...etc. but i want to remove even more, and hopefully get it down to 300-400MB I'm looking through the directories for my image, and theres one in the I386 folder, called LANG. There are a ton of files in here, totalling 99.6 MB. since I only speak english and only want to use english, how can i tell which are the english files, and which i can delete? also when the cd boots to the installer from dos (or from vmware workstation) it preloads a ton of drivers, for scsi devices, and some other things, that I don't have and never will have. This all takes time. I'd like to be able to if possible remove all these darn SCSI and raid drivers from being pre-copied over to my HD every time i install windows, and remove all the language files that I dont need, as well as anything else i can do to slim down my image so that it not only installs faster, but so I have more room on the CD to put other stuff to install, like norton systemworks, and maybe photoshop. Any help you guys could provide would be appreciated.. Oh, and yes once again I've followed the guides, and removed the upgrade and migration folders, as well as the value added and support stuff. that saved about 70-80 megs, but I know alot more stuff can go, possibly printer drivers or fonts, or modem drivers in the driver.cab file....etc.. just can't find a guide to do it.. I've seen one before but can't find it... it was titled something like "windows XP image in under 200MB or something like that Thanks again for any help you guys can provide... customizing my xp cd is incredibly cool
