  1. I figured it was something with the SATA drivers. I know there was confusion a while back about the VIA sata drivers (viamraid vs viasraid or something like that). I was trying to find a topic I was involved in regarding this but I can't seem to find it.
  2. So looking at the Windows XP/2003 Ultimate Edition topic I came across problems modifying the \windows\system32\config\system registry as I don't have media center (or any other OS) installed on a different partition. Searching around I came across this method and this method, both of which boot up using a BartPE disc. I have been trying to use this method to modify the registry but have been unsuccessful. Making the boot up disk i use my XP Pro SP2 disk for the windows installation files and put my SATA drivers in the specified folder. I boot up with the disk but cannot find the hard drive with my current XP installation and consequently cannot find the \windows\system32\config\system. The drives that appear are RAMDISK (B:) CD Drive (D:) and BartPE (X:). What am I doing wrong here? Appreciate any help!
  3. i have the same card, so answer to xl-djk95355's last question would answer the same question i have
  4. nevermind, i used the drivers via cd method and now i don't have to know!
  5. I'm looking to create an unattended setup with the system listed below in my signature. My question is what to include from the VIA Chipset 4 in 1 drivers pack found here, in the $OEM$\drivers\000_chipset folder and if there are other ones i need for different components? If somenone could let me know which files i need and from which folder to get them fromi would appreciate it! By the way, I am looking to install the sata drivers as well! I remember a while back reading here about some confusion on what to write in the txtsetup.sif file! Thanks !
  6. Ah well I got it to work using the method you gave Daveyz, or he figured out, or however he got it. Thanks a lot BTS, the DriverPack made life much easier. 7. I have the same issue with my mobo, MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R, not sure if its the same as Daveyz so I'll attach my Everest Report Report.zip
  8. no i can't do F6 cuz i dont have a floppy drive, thats the whole reason i decided to make the unattended disk. and if they werent integrated right, then wouldnt they just not load? i saw the drivers load up while windows was loading everything
  9. Im new to this whole thing, so bear with me, but I just created my first unattended windows xp cd. I used the tutorial from this site and Bâshrat the Sneaky's Driver Slipstreamer to do so. I have a new SATA drive that I wanted to install this onto. So I installed the drive and popped in the CD. Everything worked fine, all the drivers loaded and windows saw the hard drive. I chose to "format using the NTFS file system" , it started going, and went outside for a little while, as i did not want to sit there and wait. I come back and there is this error message: A problem has been detected and Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps: Check for viruses on your computer. Remove any newly installed hard drives and or hard drive controllers. Check your hard drive to make sure it is properly configured and terminated. Run CHKDSK /F to check for drive corruption, and then restart your computer. Technical information: ***Step: 0x0000007B (0xF79F7528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) So I restarted and got the same error message. I don't know how to run CHKDSK /F, so i didnt do that. I even made another unattended disc, thinking i screwed it up somehow, but the first thing I saw after BIOS did its thing was that error message. It never even entered Windows setup. Anyone got any ideas as to what the problem is?
  10. Alright, so i recently purchased a new SATA drive (SAMSUNG SpinPoint P Series 120GB Serial ATA150 to be exact), I have no floppy drive, so I want to slipstream the sata drivers. I have been looking around the forum here reading the various topics posted regarding this. I have seen there have been problems with my particular chipset and I am just posting to ask for clarification to make sure i did everything right. I downloaded BTS's DriverPack BASE and DriverPack Mass Storage. I used method one in installing the Mass Storage. My unattended CD is in the folder XPCD and I now have a $OEM$ folder under XPCD. Is there anything more I have to do for my particular board? Or was the DriverPack Mass Storage file fixed after the viasraid and viamraid problem? Thanks for any help
