  1. I plugged my eyetoy into my comp and it wouldn't install automatically, where do i get the driver?
  2. Okay, a while ago I needed to know how to get BIOS to sense my SATA drive and 2 optical drives. One of the optical drives was faulty and once I took it out BIOS sensed the other one, and for some reason (maybe dust in the connection) the SATA drive was one day just sensed by BIOS . But I still get the Non-system disk or disk error . I was told I needed the XP disk (which I have) but is still doesn't work. Also, my DVD drive (the only one that is being used) still comes up in BIOS as the slave, even if I configure it to master or cable select. It's plugged in correctly, I chacked. What's going on. (Please exuse my ignorance if this is a dumb question).
  3. It started as an upgrade of an old computer, then i needed a new CPU, then a new MB, then it turned out that the power supply and cooling system of my old case were too crap. So I got this awesome silver case B) with a... unique front . Then I realised that I was using a floppy drive, DVD drive and CDR/W drive from our old 'beige beast'. It is almost sacreligious to have that crap poking out the front of the beauty that is my new case . All I need to do is spray paint the components silver. What is the cheapest, safest and most effective way of doing this. Hopefully your insight will put to rest my parents fears of hardware damage.
  4. I should have put this topic in this area. Please visit and help out a newbie. The topic is called "BIOS configuration problem for my home made computer" and is in the general discussion area.
  5. looks better than anything i could do but r u planning to change the look once it has had the bugs removed? works well, i uploaded some of my early work (from when i was learning) Should turn out well for u
  6. I would say winter because it releives the water shortages we have (though less and less)
  7. if u know a bit about this computer building stuff (no pun intended, bit, u get it?), help me. I posted a question in general discussion about using BIOS on SATA drives (my BIOS doesn't seem to be able to sense them even though it came with a MB that has SATA plugs!). Help out a noob.
  8. Yea, I went to the Gigabyte homepage and got the most recent version i could for my motherboard. I'm sure I got the right one, I checked after reading your post. My board is a GA-K8VM800M. I also tried technical support from Gigabyte and I'm still waiting for a reply. . Thanx for your help. I'm from near Melbourne too!
  9. I 100% agree with this statement and the New Testament of the Christian Bible shows how Christ was also against "the establishment". He got really ticked off at people who were making the church a "den of robbers" and lamblasted those political church leaders who made the church a place of rules rather than a place of love. Rick <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Its funny how off track a disscusion can become. I read an article recently that said in 10 years, permanent, irreversable climate change will be upon us . Even if we act now and completely stop using oil and all the other crap we put into the atmosphere, we'd be lucky to live sustainably. That commet won't affect us, but we're screwed anyway. If the global tempature doesn't make an about turn within 10 years (virtually impossible with people like Bush in power ) the Greenland iceshelf will melt and raise the sea level by over a meter, this will be completely irreversable!!! The world is on the brink of destruction and here we are, arguing about political correctness. However, I am writing a paper on how physics can be used to prove logically that we have a soul (that's just my word for this... thing that isn't made of matter or energy but must be there 'watching' us), god though is another matter enirely.
  10. I just bought all the parts for a new computer and built it, but configuring it has been hell ! (I kinda know what I'm doing but I'm no expert). My motherboard has the right plugs for a SATA HDD but the freakn' BIOS isn't sensing it! I've updated it from F2 to F6 without any success. (My 6 yr old DVD drive is being sensed but instead of showing it's name it's showing random characters, and the 6yr old CDR/W drive isn't sensing at all). I've found many BIOS versions on the net that appear to have the features to solve this problem but I don't know if BIOS is motherboard specific or not. HELP!
