1. I really enjoy this forum so far. This thread I have a particular interest in learning. I am looking to meet new friends who have this same interest. My msn messenger is mortalmatt[at]gmail[dot]com
2. they seem to reside here in registry [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment]
3. Thanks for the registry file post, but it did not work for me. What might be the problem? Thanks
4. The thread smc linked will cover the other options. See the reg file that someone posted there. This is all I found on the alt underline options. http://www.codeproject.com/win32/manipwindows.asp
5. Hello, is there a way to skip the "Press any key to boot from CD"? I've searched around for this, but I could not find a solution. Thanks
6. This notes ctrl+alt+delete. I hope it is helpful to you. http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documen...p_overview.mspx
7. Trying to install dotnetfx.exe and I get an error: you must enable rollback to continue with the setup. I tried the registry fix that is posted by m$ and on another site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312499/EN-US/ . The key did not exist in the registry for me though. I am guessing it is relative to System restore being disabled or a service that I've disabled. Is there a way to install this and possibly other things that require the same without enabling SR? Thanks
8. This is most important IMO. If you bought the system uncustomized in some fashion, then most likely you have a 5400. Running your OS off a 5400 will result in a dramatic slow down when compared to running on a 7200 IMO.
9. I use /NOGUIBOOT in boot.ini. Is there a way to add this to the boot.ini not manually? Or, to replace /FASTDETECT with /NOGUIBOOT? I read somewhere removing /FASTDETECT would improve boot speed. Thanks
10. What do you use for mid wav ogg and other audio forms that one may come into at times? Thanks
11. Is there a way to sort the desktop icons alphabetically as well? Thanks
