  1. Hello Jennifer, thank you very much for your feedback! This will help other users with a similar system. Kind regards Fernando
  2. @ ssnjesko: Welcome at MSFN Forum! Please give me some additional informations: 1. Which OS are you usually running with your Advent notebook? 2. What have you done with nLite? 3. Why did you try to install Vista? Regards Fernando
  3. @ bmwk75: I repeat tcdob's earlier question, which you didn't answer yet: Which AHCI driver (the in-box msahci.sys or the AMD one) do/did you use while running Windows 7? See below. Obviously none of the AMD AHCI/RAID drivers do support the S.M.A.R.T. data while running Windows XP. If this should be true' date=' there is no workaround. At least it will be your decision, if you want a better performance (running the SATA Controllers in AHCI mode, but without S.M.A.R.T. data) or a continuous monitoring of the hdd S.M.A.R.T. values.@ all: Here are the requested download links to the newest 32/64bit AMD SBxxx textmode drivers dated 11/17/2011, which have been modified by me yesterday to make them usable with (hopefully) all AMD Southbridges from SB6xx up: >32bit AMD SBxxx textmode driver v3.3.1540.26 for Windows XP mod by Fernando< >64bit AMD SBxxx textmode driver v3.3.1540.26 for Windows XP x64 mod by Fernando< Good luck! Regards Fernando
  4. I have no idea, why CrystalDiskInfo shows the S.M.A.R.T. values of your AHCI mode connected hdd's while running Win7, but not when running Windows XP. If you want the S.M.A.R.T. values while running Windows XP, you obviously have to change the SATA mode to "IDE". Thanks for the information.I will present modded versions of the new 32/64bit drivers, when I have the time to do it. Regards Fernando
  5. It will work, if you just integrate the one and only correct textmode driver for an individual hardware configuration, but it may not work, if you integrate a mixture of several textmode drivers and enable a big variety of different AHCI and RAID Controllers from different vendors.Nevertheless you may try it. Here you can find links to some common 64bit textmode drivers for Windows XP x64: >NVIDIA nForce RAID and AHCI drivers< >Intel RAID and AHCI drivers< >AMD RAID and AHCI drivers< >VIA RAID drivers< EDIT: If you want to integrate AHCI/RAID drivers for JMicron or Marvell Controllers into a Windows XP x64 CD, you can find approproate driver links within the start post of >this< German language thread (you will find the driver links without any problem). Because the intensive hardware detection and selection of the appropriate driver takes place within the second (GUIMODE) part of the OS installation, whereas the hdd/SSD detection has to be done within the first (=TEXTMODE) part of the OS installation. You can integrate so many different PnP drivers you want - the OS Setup will only accept the correct ones, but if you integrate a wrong textmode driver or enable a wrong AHCI/RAID Controller during the integration procedure, you may get a BSOD.Furthermore the textmode drivers may be overwritten during the integration procedure, if you integrate more than 1 driver with the same name (e.g. iaStor.sys). No, you can integrate as many 64bit Ethernet drivers as you want or find. There is no risk of an OS installation failure, because the LAN drivers are PnP ones and will be sorted out within the GUIMODE part of the OS installation.Regards Fernando
  6. That's right, there are no driverpacks for Windows XP x64.So it will be impossible to create a Windows XP x64 CD, which will work with all Pata/Sata Controllers running in RAID or AHCI mode. The only alternative is to use nLite and to integrate some 64bit textmode drivers for the most common RAID and AHCI Controllers into the XP x64 CD, but the risk of an installation failure will be great. For Windows XP you may use the DriverPacks method and integrate the actual "DriverPacks LAN" package (look >here<).Regarding Windows XP x64 you may try nLite, but it will be hard to find the suitable drivers for the big variety of Ethernet Controllers. Regards Fernando
  7. Thanks for the compliment! Regards Fernando
  8. That's exactly what I want. Will those cover the Intel drivers too?Yes!Regards Fernando
  9. There is no nForce IDE driverpack available, which will support all nForce SATA/AHCI/RAID systems. You will have the best chances, if you integrate >these< drivers (for older=LEGACY mode nForce chipsets) or >these< drivers (for newer nForce chipsets from MCP51 up), but none of them will support MCP65-67 systems or any nForce chipset system running in AHCI mode. If you want to create a Windows XP CD, which can be used with nearly all nForce chipsets and their SATA configuration (IDE/AHCI/RAID), you should not use nLite, but the tool named "DriverPacks Base" (look >here<) and integrate the newest "DriverPacks Mass Storage" set. Regards Fernando
  10. You obviously have integrated all drivers, which are within AMD's latest Catalyst driverpack. This was a mistake. If you want to get Windows XP installed without any problem, you should do the following: 1. Use a clean (= untouched) XP CD as source and don't load the Last_Session.ini of a previous nLite processing. 2. Let nLite just integrate the Service Pack 3 (if not already present) and the actual AMD AHCI driver (I gave you already the link). Don't integrate any other driver! 3. Let nLite burn the image directly or let nLite create the ISO file and burn it separately. Regards Fernando
  11. @ hardenbroekje: Welcome at MSFN Forum! You obviously have integrated the AMD driver named amd_sata.sys, which is only usable with Vista or Windows 7. If you want to get Windows XP installed onto your AMD chipset system running in AHCI mode, you have to take the AMD SATA AHCI driver named ahcix86.sys. Solution: I recommend to Integrate the 32bit AMD textmode driver for Windows XP, which I have linked >here<. Regards Fernando
  12. Since I started >here< a new thread about the integration of VIA's RAID driver, we should continue our discussion there. Thanks! Fernando
  13. You either have tried to integrate the 64bit VIA RAID driver into the 32bit OS Windows XP (which doesn't work at all) or you have used an already processed Windows XP CD as source.Regards Fernando
  14. Since some users with a VIA RAID system obviously are running into problems, if they integrate VIA's officially released RAID driver package, I have started this thread. Many of these problems are caused by the content of the TXTSETUP.OEM file, which has been added by VIA. This file is very important for the detection of the RAID during the first (TEXTMODE) part of the XP resp. XP x64 installation. Just to minimize the risk of the later Windows XP/XPx64 installation failure, I have customized the TXTSETUP.OEM files of the latest 32/64bit VIA RAID drivers dated 11/18/2010. After having done that I have repacked and uploaded them to a file hoster. Here are the download links: >32bit VIA RAID driverpack v6.01 customized< (only for Windows XP) >64bit VIA RAID driverpack v6.01 customized< (only for Windows XP x64) Additional remarks: Start the nLite processing with a fresh copy of an untouched XP/XPx64 CD content and don't load any Last_Session.ini file. If your XP CD doesn't already contain the Service Pack 3, you should integrate it too. Attention: The integration procedure should be done within a Windows XP (32bit) environment. XP x64 users should integrate the Service Pack 2 for XP x64 from within a 64bit environment. During the nLite processing you should make sure, that the VIA RAID driver will be integrated as TEXTMODE driver and not as PnP driver. Usually nLite will do it automaticly, when the driver is associated by a file named TXTSETUP.OEM. If you want to minimize of a later XP Setup failure, you should not use all offered nLite processing options at once. This is what nLite should do:Integration of the latest Service Pack (if not already included) Integration of the VIA RAID driver (32bit for XP, 64bit for XP x64) as Textmode driver. Creation of the ISO file or using the nLite option of directly burning the XP/XPx64 CD as bootable image [*]As last step you have to burn the ISO file, which has been created by nLite, as bootable image (unless you had already chosen the direct burning option of nLite). [*]If you want to get some additional informations regarding the integration of a textmode driver into a Windows XP/XPx64 CD and about the most common problems during the later OS installation, you may look into the start post of >this< thread. Any feedback is much appreciated. Good luck! Fernando
  15. @ autowolf80: Welcome at MSFM Forum! Since your VIA RAID driver problem is absolutely off-topic, I have started >here< a new thread with the topic "Integration of VIA's RAID driver" and quoted your post there. Good luck! Fernando
  16. @ iyant: Welcome at MSFN Forum! You obviously have integrated a 64bit AMD textmode driver into the 32bit OS Windows XP. Since the Setup of the 32bit OS is not able to work with any 64bit driver, you get the misleading message, that the driver is "corrupt". It is not corrupt, but simply unusual for the 32bit OS Setup.Solution: Repeat the nLite procedure from scratch without loading the Last_Session.ini and integrate the 32bit AMD textmode driver Look into your mainboard/PC manual.Regards Fernando
  17. There are a lot of optical drives, which are reading and writing fine in AHCI mode. That is a Standard feature! My advice: RMA the optical drive and get another one. Regards Fernando
  18. @ kompwter: Welcome at MSFN Forum! I doubt, that your Lenovo IdeaCentre H410 Desktop supports the AHCI features. Otherwise Lenovo would have offered an Intel AHCI driver for it. This verifies, that the mainboard of your system doesn't support AHCI and RAID.This is the simple reason why you were not able to get any AHCI driver installed. Regards Fernando
  19. The "mod by Fernando" ones have been customized by me to make them usable with all AMD Southbridges from SB6xx up, whereas the "WHQL" ones are the original AMD RAID drivers, which are only designed for AMD SB8xx chipsets. These original AMD drivers do not loose their WHQL stamp by hosting them somewhere else. The AMD RAID driverpacks you get at AMD download pages are very big and contain much more than the needed drivers. That is why I offer just the already extracted small 32bit and 64bit driverpacks, which are needed for the integration into the Windows XP (32/64bit) image.Regards Fernando
  20. The integration of PnP drivers is no problem. You can integrate thousends of them - even 64bit ones with a 32bit OS - without expecting any difficulties. Reason: The hardware detection during the GUIMODE part of the XP installation will only take the suitable ones. Things are totally different with the textmode drivers, because they are already needed during the TEXTMODE part of the OS installation to get the hdd/SSD detected and the OS data copied onto it.
  21. No, I don't know such application.According to my knowledge all available tools, which are able to integrate drivers into a Windows XP image, need an untouched XP CD as source for a proper integration. Regards Fernando
  22. @ teebee: Welcome at MSFN Forum! If you want to install XP in a VirtualBox without risking a BSOD, you should integrate >this< old Intel textmode driver of the MSM series. Please read my guide carefully. You will find all needed informations there: .These SYS files are special Hewlett-Packard Printer drivers, which are not present within the Original XP CD produced by Microsoft. To prevent these errors I recommend to use an original Windows XP CD as source and not an OEM installation CD, which has been designed for a slightly other system. You will be able to get any original SB (SystemBuilder) version of Windows XP installed and activated by using your OEM CD key, provided you have an XP OEM licence and don't use the OS with another system. Regards Fernando
  23. @ teebe: Since your notebook has an Intel SATA port, you have posted into the wrong thread. The topic of this thread is the integration of the NVIDIA textmode drivers. Please post your problem into >this< thread. Thanks in advance! Regards Fernando
  24. Regarding the AMD SATA AHCI drivers everything looks fine.Regards Fernando
