Maybe the textmode drivers of the newest Intel Matrix Storage Manager v8.5.0.1032 (Link) will solve your problem. If you want the newest WHQL certified Intel textmode drivers for ICH7-10 chipsets v8.5.0.1032 dated 07/20/2008, you should take these ones:32bit Intel textmode drivers v8.5.0.1032 64bit Intel textmode drivers v8.5.0.1032

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Which of your hdd's is the boot drive with the MBR?Have you changed the HARD DISK BOOT PRIORITY within the BIOS? Since you use neither RAID nor native AHCI mode, you don't need any nForce IDE drivers to get Windows XP x64 installed. 1. The 64bit version of Windows XP is very sensitive regarding overclocking, especially during the Setup procedure. Do a memtest and run your computer at standard BIOS settings (no OC).2. Maybe one of your devices is not compatible with XP x64. Unplug all unneeded devices before you start with the Xp x64 installation. -
Thanks for your reply and your comment regarding the different Intel textmode driver versions. Here is my statement: 1. If there would exist any perfect driver, none of the chip manufacturers would spend a cent for the development of new ones. 2. I have put links to the newest Intel textmode drivers into my guide, because many users reported about a much better performance after having updated to the v8.x.x.xxxx series. Furthermore only these actual drivers do support Intel ICH10R chipsets. 3. Nevertheless you can use the older v7.x.x.xxx Intel textmode drivers, if you want to. I do present them both within my guide. CU Fernando

Where did you select the "ICH9R textmode driver"? When you integrate the Intel textmode driver, you have the choice between different Intel S-ATA AHCI and RAID Controllers, but not between different drivers. All Intel Controllers of all Intel chipsets are using 1 single driver named IASTOR.SYS.Which Intel S-ATA Controller did you enable, the ICH9R S-ATA AHCI Controller or the ICH9R S-ATA RAID Controller? It probably would have been a good decision to enable both of them. You will only get your RAID detected, when you have set the related S-ATA Controllers to RAID Mode instead of AHCI Mode (if you want to run the non-RAID hdd in AHCI mode, you should connect your RAID hdd's with your JMicron RAID ports). The further procedure depends on the question, if you have integrated the support of the Intel ICH9R RAID Controllers into your nLited CD (look to my first question above). If you should be able to boot into XP after having enabled the RAID Mode of the Intel S-ATA ports within your BIOS, normally the Intel ICH9R RAID Controller should be detected. If not, try to run the EXE file of the complete Intel Matrix Storage Manager package you get here.

The Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver package v8.2.3.1001 is not a Beta version. It has been officially released by Intel and digitally signed by Microsoft. If you want to use the older textmode drivers v7.8.0.1012, just look into my guide. Whithin the chapter "1. Preparation" take the drivers of point c) instead of a).

Which Controller(s) did you check while integrating the Intel textmode drivers?Little side note: It is not a good idea to use any Intel S-ATA Controller with enabled AHCI mode for your CD/DVD. If your mainboard has JMicron SATA Controllers, use one of them for your optical drive.

The drivers I have linked within my guide are as official and WHQL signed as those you have linked to, but the v8.2.3.1001 drivers are newer (dated 06/26/2008).Furthermore they are better as Lancelot_Real has already pointed out.

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
this give me an error on a file that i don't remember the name.Which error message did you get? Was it like "could not copy file xyz"? no, i don't use floppy disk. nvatabus don't works What does mean "doesn't work"? I am pretty sure, that the integration of the LEGACY driver folder would work too.Recommendations: 1. You have to take a clean (=untouched) XP XD as source. 2. Lower the speed when burning the CD. 3. Check your memory sticks with memtest. Remove some sticks, if you are using more than 2 GB of memory. You should check, if you really need this Controller. If not, you should disable it within the BIOS. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Yes, but you should verify, if nLite really takes the SATARAID drivers as TEXTMODE. Did you integrate the LEGACY driver folder as TEXTMODE driver? You have to, don't hit F6 and try to load the driver from a floppy disk. That doesn't work! -
The same happened here. Since the related Dell Server has 64-bit Quad-Core Intel® Xeon® processors, he probably will need to take the XP_IA64 drivers.

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
You have to integrate the content of both driver folders as layed down within my guide, the SATARAID one as TEXTMODE and the SATA_IDE one as "normal" device driver. -
Which error message did you get?If you got the message, the the SYS file is "corrupt", you probably tried to install a 32bit driver onto a 64bit OS, which doesn't work at all.

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
Do a right-click onto the devices and look for details.EDIT: The "Unknown Device" probably is the ASUS ACPI device. The driver should be on the mainboard CD. If not, use the attached one. ASUS_ACPI.zip What about your Sound chip? This could be the "PCI Device". You will get the newest HDAudio drivers from Realtek. -

What about your memory? Any overclocking? Did you do a memtest? Do you have more than 2 GB RAM? -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
I assume, that you are running nForce RAID (your mainboard has NVIDIA and JMicron RAID ports). If not, please give me exact informations about your S-Ata/RAID configuration. Since you have an MCP51 chipset mainboard, my "Special WHQL Performance Pack" will be the best driverpack for your system. I would just integrate the SATARAID folder (as TEXTMODE). If this should fail, you should additionally integrate the SATA_IDE folder (as PnP driver).Once the OS is up, you should run the installer of my "WHQL Performance Pack" by checking all needed options (inclusive "MediaShield"). My advice: Slipstream the SP3 into the XP CD. -
Yes, the 64bit driver version works with all 64bit Windows Operating Systems. You are welcome.Greetings Fernando

Intel Matrix Storage Manager.Ahhhhhh, thanks. I am trying them but there not working as needed. What happened exactly? I used to run a single drive and Raid 5 with the single drive being the one that the system boots the OS. Now i don't want to use the single drive no more and put it in another system and just use my 6 SATA drives.I've been able to install the OS to the Raid 1 but had to format it and use the total size of the disk to install a fresh OS to it. Maybe when i partitioned the Raid 1 in windows messed it up so the WINXP CD could not understand the drive correctly ?. All your problems may be induced by the change of your boot partition from your single hdd to the RAID.Before you created the RAID1, you should have done a low level format of both hdd's.

What do you mean with "IMSM drivers"? I have never heard about this sort of drivers. That is why I have prepared the actual Intel textmode drivers for an easy integration and uploaded them separately. You will find all links within the first post of this thread. The normal order is the following:1. Creation of the RAID 2. Installation of the Operating System(s). Which OS were you running while creating the RAID and what happened after the reboot? How did you get the needed Intel RAID drivers installed onto your running OS? Sorry for my question. Since you have 6 hdd's, 2 of them as RAID1 and the rest as RAID5 array, you obviously don't have any hdd outside the RAID.Correct question: Where is your active partition containing the Master Boot Record, within the RAID1 or within the RAID5 array? Please explain, what exactly you have done. What do you mean with "RAID setup"? When you have successfully created a RAID, it is a "healthy" RAID array, but no RAID setup.
-
1. Why did you integreate the modified driver version? ICH9R S-ATA RAID Controllers are fully supported by the original WHQL signed driver version.2. Where is your Boot partition with the MBR (usually drive C:)? Is it inside or outside the RAID arrays? 3. Why do you think, that you have to install the OS onto tha complete 250 GB sized hdd? After having chosen a hdd for the OS installation, you are able to create a partition with a size you want (40 GB for example).

If you had deleted the folder "NLDRV", where nLite usually stores all integrated drivers, you still have the previously installed Intel Controller drivers within your Windows folder. The textmode driver itself named IASTOR.SYS is within the WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS folder, whereas the associated INF file now is named "OEMxx.INF" (xx means any digit) and stored within the WINDOWS\INF folder.

Thanks for your report. This verifies the information, that it is possible to check all available Controllers at the textmode driver popup window while processing with nLite. Thanks for your detailed workaround how to switch the Intel ICH9R SATA Controllers from the IDE to the AHCI mode without the necessity of a reinstall of Windows XP.This may help other users. @ carporsche: I have no idea why you failed with the installation of Windows XP. At least you have 2 options: a ) Installation without AHCI support Disable AHCI within the BIOS and install XP without integrating any textmode driver > should work without problems (disadvantage: no AHCI features) b ) Installation with AHCI support Enable AHCI within the BIOS and integrate the 32bit textmode driver (choosing the ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller) > should work too Maybe this post will help you to find a solution for your problem.
