  1. Have you enabled the WLAN function (commonly by hitting Fn+F1 with laptops)?Windows will only detect devices, which are enabled. The Intel Matrix Storage Manager is a complete package, which containsa ) the Intel SATA AHCI and RAID drivers (= Intel textmode drivers) and b ) the Intel Matrix Storage Control Console (this is an application, which makes it possible to control the RAID or AHCI configuration from within the running OS). You cannot integrate the whole package, but you need to integrate the drivers to detect the SATA hdd(s) during the XP installation. Since it is not easy to extract the needed textmode drivers off the Intel Matrix Storage Package and since the installation of the Intel Matrix Control Console should be done after having completed the XP installation, I recommend to download and store just the small driver package named F6FLPY3288.ZIP as step 1 ("Preparation"), whereas the complete Intel Matrix Storage Manager package named IATA88CD.EXE can be downloaded and installed at step 4 ("How to get access to the Intel Storage Manager"). Everything clear now? Regards Fernando
  2. @ thehawk1701: Welcome at MSFN Forums! The integration of both Intel and NVIDIA SATA AHCI drivers into 1 single XP SP3 CD should be no problem, but the use of nLite is not allowed for business purposes.CU Fernando
  3. @ b3l: Welcome at MSFN Forums! Please read the informations, which were linked by the well experienced MSFN Forum member XIII. Only drivers, which are managing mass storage Controllers (SATA AHCI or SATA RAID), are TEXTMODE drivers and absolutely needed. You can integrate the so called PnP drivers for video, audio, modem and other devices, but the integration is not required to get XP installed. It is no problem to get these PnP devices working by installing the appropriate PnP drivers after having completed the XP installation. Nevertheless it may be useful to get and store these drivers somewhere before you are going to install the OS, because you cannot download any driver, if your Network Controller doesn't work due to the missing driver. The first part of your sentence is correct, but the conclusion is wrong. The installation of the TEXTMODE drivers doesn't have any impact on the later installation of the PnP drivers. On the other hand the wrong order of the PnP drivers installation might induce problems. There are a lot of guides in the net regarding the best PnP driver installation procedure. You either have tried to install the wrong driver or the installation procedure failed. My advice: 1. Check, if you have tried to install the correct 32bit XP driver for this device. If needed, download the suitable driver. 2. Uninstall this not working device from within the Device Manager, reboot and retry to install the appropriate driver. Good luck! Fernando
  4. As you probably know, each new SP version contains all hotfixes of the previously released ones. So why don't you just integrate the latest SP version SP3 into your XP SP0 CD? What is the reason for trying to integrate SP1+SP2?
  5. @ Cor'e =): Obviously you misunderstood the first part of my last post, which I just have edited to make it clear: 1. If you have an nForce SataRAID system, you have to integrate the SATARAID driver folder as TEXTMODE and - when you get the textmode popuip window - have to enable both NVIDIA products, which are shown as "required": RAIDCLASS = "NVIDIA RAID CLASS DRIVER (required)" BUSDRV = "NVIDIA NForce Storage Controller (required)" Otherwise your RAID will not be detected. I have never meant, that you should disable one of these "required" NVIDIA products. 2. According to your previous post you had integrated the SATARAID and the SATA_IDE driver folder - both as TEXTMODE - and this procedure was wrong. That was the message of my last post. 3. Why did you integrate the Service Pack 1 into the XP CD? You can and should integrate the Service Pack 3 directly into your XP SP0 OEM version. Maybe you thought, that this is not possible, but it is. The only restriction is, that you cannot update an XP RTM (=SP0) version with SP3, but it is no problem at all to slipstream the SP3 into a Windows XP SP0 version.
  6. This can be caused by a big variety of hardware or software issues. If I would know the exact reason, I would have posted it here. I would rather want to help you further on, but I have not the time to solve individual problems, which are absolutely off topic.CU Fernando
  7. What I meant are the nForce IDE drivers, which are managing the NVIDIA nForce RAID Controller, the NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controllers and the RAID Devices (usually hidden within the Device Manager), but before you do that, you should check your BIOS settings and all your possibly affected hardware devices (hdd's, memory sticks, cables, PSU etc.).Please ask for help someone/somewhere else. You didn't even have the time to integrate the needed textmode drivers into the XP CD - which is absolutely recommended within this thread, but you ask me every week for help. I don't remember neither your hardware configuration (nForce chipset etc.) nor exactly your problem. I don't have the time to read each week all the posts of this thread to be informed about your specific system and issue. This is a thread about how to successfully integrate the NVIDIA nForce SATA/RAID drivers and not a hardware issue support thread. Regards Fernando
  8. 1. Open the "Disk Drives" section of the Device Manager.2. Do a right-click onto the shown NVIDIA RAID device > "Properties" > "Policies". Now you get the option to disable the "Write Cashing" of your RAIDed hdd's. how can i do?You obviously cannot, because the option is greyed out. Maybe you should use another nForce IDE driver version.
  9. No, you have to load both, but just by integrating the SATARAID driver folder Reason: The SATA_IDE driver folder of the actual nForce IDE drivers v10.3.0.46 does support AHCI, but the MCP55 chipset of your mainboard doesn't. So it doesn't make any sense for your system to integrate the SATA_IDE driver folder as TEXTMODE driver. Contrary to the NVIDIA ones there is just 1 Intel textmode driver, which supports AHCI and RAID. The 2nd and 3rd choice doesn't work:2. The generic in-box MS IDE drivers do not support the SATA AHCI Mode. A SATA hdd, which is set to "AHCI Mode" (not possible with your board) will not be detected by XP Setup. 3. If you would have an AHCI capable mainboard and would integrate the SATARAID folder, you won't get any AHCI support. You don't have the choice "AHCI Mode", because this feature is not supported by the NVIDIA chipset of your mainboard.Good luck! Fernando
  10. @ Cor'e =): Why are you going to integrate both nForce IDE driver folders (SATARAID + SATA_IDE)? I don't think, that you have to additionally integrate the SATA_IDE driver folder. EDIT: I just saw, that you are going to integrate both SATARAID and SATA_IDE folders as TEXTMODE drivers. That is wrong!
  11. @ Cor'e =): Since you don't have a LEGACY mode nForce RAID system, I recommend to do the following: Download the actual version of nLite and NVIDIA's actual nForce chipset driverpack 15.25. Create an actual and optimized XP CD by using nLite and just integrating the Service Pack 3 (which contains all previous XP SP's) and the SATARAID driver folder of NVIDIA's actual nForce chipset driverpack 15.25. Backup your important datas. Install XP by booting off the prepared XP CD. Once XP is up, run the installer of the 15.25 driverpack. Run the latest post-SP3 Update Pack for Windows XP After having done that, you will have a clean, fast and up-to-date XP system. Good luck! Fernando
  12. @ niknik: Welcome at MSFN Forums! For you I recommend to integrate the SATARAID driver folder of the nForce IDE drivers v.10.3.0.46, which are part of NVIDIA's official 15.25/15.26 driver packages. Once XP is up, you can install the whole nForce chipset driver package v15.26 (you can get it here). Good luck! Fernando
  13. I do not recommend that.If you want to create a Windows XP CD with a big variety of textmode drivers, you should not use nLite, but the tool DriverPacks. It is probably the DriverPacks method, what you found. Yes, if you have integrated the suitable textmode driver. Before you are going to install XP with integrated textmode driver, you should enable "Native SATA Mode" (="AHCI Mode") within the BIOS.Good luck! Fernando
  14. Yes, you can integrate both drivers (Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver and Intel Chipset drivers) into the XP CD, but you have to integrate the Intel AHCI/RAID driver as TEXTMODE and the INF driver (content of the folder named "All") as PnP driver.Contrary to the Intel AHCI/RAID driver the integration of the INF drivers are not really necessary for getting XP installed, but if they are integrated too, all Intel related system management devices are proper working from scratch.
  15. @ ss4sgoku: Welcome at MSFN Forums! You should integrate just the 32bit original Intel textmode driver I have linked at a) within my guide. What you can do is to enable all listed AHCI and RAID Controllers, when you get the popup window while integrating the driver.Windows Setup will not install any Controller, which is not present in the system. Regards Fernando
  16. Yes. If you download the package named "Update INF Utility - Zip Format" you will get a ZIP file, which can easily be unzipped by any tool like WinRAR, 7-Zip etc.
  17. Why do you want to do that? Are you running your Windows in RAID or AHCI Mode? That would make more sense, because thisway you will get the actual Intel AHCI/RAID drivers and the actual Intel Matrix Storage Console v8.8.
  18. The is the nLite Forum and not a Forum for users, who want to install Windows XP without using nLite. If you want to use this driver, you have to unzip/execute the EXE file and put the drivers onto the floppy. You can take any suitable driver you want. The drivers I have linked within the first post of this thread are optimized for being integrated into a bootable XP CD.
  19. Not completely. If you are running XP, you should open the "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" and - if present - the "SCSI and RAID Controllers" section of the Device Manager and look for the names of the listed Controllers ("Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controllers" are from Microsoft and not interesting for me).Even better would be, if you can check the HardwareID's of all listed Controllers (except "Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller") by doing a right click onto the Controllers > "Properties" > "Details" > "Property" > "HardwareID's".
  20. Welcome at MSFN Forums! We should know the chip of your mainboard's Southbridge and the SATA mode (AHCI or RAID) your hdd is runnng. If you can still boot into Vista, do the following: 1. Run the Device Manager and open the "IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers" and - if present - the "Storage Controllers" sections. 2. Post the names of the Controllers, which are listed, or do a screenshot of the Device Manager and put a link into your next post.
  21. @ ashhanlove: Wecome at MSFN Forums! I am pleased, that my guide was a help for you. Install the Intel chipset drivers ("INF Update Utility"), which you get here.Good luck! Fernando
  22. There is not 1 single driver (as for Intel systems), because nForce RAID systems need the SATARAID drivers, whereas the AHCI systems only will be detected, when the SATA_IDE TEXTMODE drivers are present. I do not recommend that. What you can do is to prepare 2 different Windows XP CD's, one with integrated SATARAID drivers and the other with integrated SATA_IDE drivers. The best suitable driver package for actual laptops will be NVIDIA's 15.25 driverset. Contrary to the Intel driver TEXTMODE integration you have only 2 options with RAID systems and just 1 with AHCI systems. You have to enable them, otherwise you won't get XP installed onto an nForce RAID/AHCI system. You may try it, but I do not recommend that, because you may get problems with nForce RAID/AHCI systems, when you mix the drivers.Additional informations: 1. The use of nLite is only allowed for private home users. You may not use nLite for business purposes. 2. If you want to create a Windows XP CD with a big variety of textmode drivers, you should not take nLite, but the DriverPacks. Regards Fernando
  23. @ nork: Welcome at MSFN Forums! Here is my comment regarding your problem: 1. If you are not able to disable the RAID mode within the BIOS, you have to work with the SATA Controller set in RAID mode. It is no problem, but you have to load (F6) or integrate the appropriate RAID driver, if you want to get Windows XP installed. 2. According to Acers homepage the Aspire M1640 doesn't have an Intel ICH8, but a NVIDIA nForce 620i chipset. So you are wrong within this thread, the suitable is this one. 3. You will get the newest complete chipset driver set inclusive the needed nForce SATARAID ones, when you download this driverpack. 4. After having unzipped the package, you should integrate just the content of the SATARAID subfolder into a bootable XP CD. 5. Here is the guide how to do it and where to post any future question. Good luck! Fernando
  24. As I already have written, it is not recommended at all to integrate several textmode drivers of the same Mass Storage Controller vendor. What you can do is the following: Integrate the 32bit version of the actual Intel textmode driver v8.8.0.1009 (see the link within my guide) and check all listed Intel ICH7/8/9M SATA AHCI and RAID Controllers, when you get the popup window. This way you will get a Windows XP CD, which does support all laptops, which have an Intel ICH7M, ICH8M or ICH9M Southbridge, regardless the SATA mode (AHCI or RAID). I assume, that you mean "driver" and not "drive": Yes, since there is just 1 single driver integrated, but this driver will support all possible Intel ICH7/8/9M Controllers of laptops, which do support AHCI and RAID.
