@ Jarheadnow: Welcome at MSFN Forums! Since your Acer Extensa Laptop has an Intel Southbridge, you should be able to get Windows XP installed after having integrated the Intel textmode driver according to the first post of this thread. Although I couldn't find any information about the exact Intel SATA AHCI Controller of your laptop (ICH7-M or ICH8-M), I am very confident, that you will succeed, if you do the following: 1. Download this driver and unzip it. 2. Start nLite and integrate the unzipped folder as TEXTMODE driver. 3. When you get the popup window with the list of Intel Controllers, enable all of them, which have the words "SATA AHCI" in it. Good luck! Fernando EDIT: As I just have realized, you have already solved your problem.

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
I have them extracted, but you cannot use them from scratch with Windows XP, because the TXTSETUP.OEM file is missing. Assuming, that you have already flashed the latest mainboard BIOS version, I see only the way to break the RAID and to use both SSD's as separate drives. Once NVIDIA has released an SSD compatible nForce RAID driver, you can recreate the RAID. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers

You are welcome. It makes me happy, that I was able to help you. -
@ GrofLuigi: Thanks for your feedback. As I have written, these new drivers are still Beta and not yet WHQL certified, but I am confident, that they will get the digital stamp very soon. That is why I have put them already into my guide. Regards Fernando

@ all users of my guide (first post of this thread): Yesterday I found a new Beta version of Intel's Matrix Storage Manager at Station-Drivers pages. Although Station-Drivers named it v8.9.0.1014, the package contains the brandnew Intel textmode 32/64bit drivers and the Matrix Storage Console v8.9.1015 dated 04/10/2009. Since this new version is working fine with my own ICH10R RAID system, I have updated my guide and added the links to these unofficial drivers and to the new Intel Matrix Storage Manager Console application. Any feedback is much appreciated. Have fun! Fernando

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
The file is not invalid. I just successfully downloaded it from MediaFire. Ok, the reason is the limited floppy size of 1,4 MB.You should integrate the driver into the OS CD. That is always the better choice. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
What do you mean with "both disk1 and disk2"? Did you integrate 2 different drivers? If you have an nForce AHCI system, you should just integrate the SATA_IDE driver folder of a suitable nForce driver package. I recommend to integrate this driver. It is newer and better than that one from MSI home page. -

So you are running RAID? I didn't know that.Which nForce driver version and which subfolder (SATARAID or/and SATA_IDE) did you integrate? Another tip: You can see the error message, if you choose the F8 option "Don't reboot at system failure". EDIT: After having done a Google search for your laptop I found out, that your SATA hdd probably is running in AHCI Mode. Look here: http://forum.msi.com.tw/index.php?action=p...;topic=124221.0 -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
@ defeatersphp@gmail.com: Welcome at MSFN Forums! I'm sorry, but I cannot help you, because your problem has definitively nothing to do with the integration of the NVIDIA nForce SATA or RAID drivers. My advice: Ask Microsoft for a solution. Regards Fernando -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
NVGTS.SYS is the name of NVIDIA's nForce SATA driver and will only support drives, which are connected with one of the NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA Controllers.Consequence: The driver does not work at all, if you try to get Windows MCE installed onto your old PATA drive. Additional questions: 1. What do you mean with "nvgts driver"? Which nForce SATA driver (NVGTS.SYS) version and which subfolder (SATARAID or SATA_IDE) did you integrate? 2. At which point of the OS installation did you get a BSOD when booting off the untouched original MCE CD? Has your hdd been detected by Windows Setup? 3. I repeat my question: Have you ever tried just to boot off the old PATA drive? You should do it in safe mode and install the needed nForce chipset drivers once Windows MCE is up. It makes no sense to reinstall the OS into the same partition and the integrated nForce SATA driver doesn't help at all. -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers

@ guynoirnpr: Welcome at MSFN Forums! There is generally no need to read any of the posts of this thread except the first one. Yes, it is the latest nLite version. What has your problem to do with this thread and why do you think, that I can help you? Since you neither have a RAID nor an AHCI system, you should have been able to get Windows MCE 2005 installed without slipstreaming any textmode driver. Furthermore none of your drives will be able to use the nForce SATA driver named NVGTS.SYS. Have you ever tried just to boot off your old and untouched hdd after having built your new nForce430 system? Although Intel and NVIDIA chipsets are different and need other drivers, it seems possible for me, that you would have been able to get your old MCE configuration running with your new mainboard. -

Well i tried.. I got past the user agreement then it couldn't detect array. No way to know for sure if it truly is 7100 and not a patched 7077(etc.) until i get it installed. I am going to try to clear cmos/mbr/rtc/etc. and reformat/redefine array then try again. Please report here your result. Thanks! Fernando -
1. When you got the TEXTMODE pop-up window while integrating the driver, which if the listed Controllers did you integrate?2. Are you sure, that you have an AMD RAID system?
-
What does "fail" mean? If you want a solution, you have to be more precise:What happened exactly at which point of the XP installation? How do you know, that your problem is similar, although frag_68 didn't mention what really happened?@ frag_68 and Spinner: You might get less problems while integrating the AMD/ATI RAID drivers, if you take this package, which is already prepared for a Windows XP integration.

TEXTMODE drivers are drivers, which are needed to detect and manage mass storage controllers (where the hard disk drives are connected to). You can easily identify an XP textmode driver by looking into the driver folder for a file named TXTSETUP.OEM. The ISO file has to be burnt onto a CD itself and is only usable, ifyou are going to update a running pre-SP3 XP version. If you want to slipstream SP3 into your XP CD (to have the XP3 version of XP from scratch), you have to download the EXE version of the SP3 package and to slipstream it into the XP CD. You can let nLite do it. When you are going to install Windows XP by booting off the CD, you will see the F6 option on the bottom of your screen shortly after the begin of the installation procedure. Usually it is not necessary to load/integrate any textmode driver, because the XP in-box IDE drivers are able to detect and to manage SATA hdd's (unless the SATA Controller has been set to AHCI or RAID within the BIOS).If you are using a non-nLited XP CD and should realize, that Windows Setup does not recognize your SATA hdd, you have to restart the installation, to press F6 when prompted and load the needed driver from the floppy disk. The driver integration method by using a tool like nLite is much safer than the F6/floppy method. EDIT: I'm sorry, johnhc was a few minutes quicker with his response.

@ Asmo: Welcome at MSFN Forums! It is not easy to hep you, because you didn't give any information about your pc system (name and vendor of the system/mainboard, chipset specification). Nevertheless I try to give some tips: 1. The "NTLDR is missing" message is nothing to warry about. It just means, that the computer tried to boot your new hdd, but didn't find the needed Master Boot Record (MBR), which is needed to continue the boot procedure. 2. It is not enough to format the hdd, it should be set as active (=bootable). This will automaticly be done by Windows Setup, if you install Windows XP. 3. Why did you integrate the SP1 resp. SP2 into the XP CD? You should integrate the actual XP Service Pack 3. Greetings! Fernando

Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers
Fernando 1 replied to Fernando 1's topic in nLite
It is your decision. If you don't trust the leaked version, you may check the MD5sum of the ISO file and the SETUP.EXE.If you should try to install Win7, I would rather like to know, if you succeed. Please give me a short feedback. Good luck! Fernando -
Integration of NVIDIA's nForce RAID and AHCI drivers

@ Athari: Welcome at MSFN Forums! I assume, that NVIDIA's currently available XP SATARAID drivers are not optimized for being used with SSD's. You are not alone with your problem. Look here and here. If I should find a solution, I will let you know. Good luck! Fernando EDIT: Have you ever tried to install Windows 7? If I were you, I would download the RC version (Build 7100) of this upcoming OS as soon as it will be available. Since Windows 7 has a new generation of in-box nForce SATARAID drivers (v10.6.x.xx), it might be possible, that they will work with your SSD RAID system. -

@ odds365: Welcome at MSFN Forums! Now to your question: According to my knowledge the SATA hdd of your FUJITSU SIEMENS Amilo M3438 is connected to a VIA RAID Controller. So if I am right, you have posted into the wrong thread. I am trying to help you nevertheless: What you should integrate into the XP CD is the appropriate VIA RAID textmode driver. I have prepared a small package containing just the actual 32bit XP VIA RAID driver, which can easily been integrated as textmode driver. You can get the driverpack here. Unzip the package and integrate the content as TEXTMODE driver by using the actual version of nLite. When the textmode popup window comes up, just enable the listed VIA RAID Controller. After having done that, let nLite create the ISO file and burn it as bootable image. Good luck! Fernando -
@ b3l: Why do you want to integrate the graphics driver and other PnP drivers? If you are going to reinstall the OS some weeks later, many of these drivers are already outdated. Furthermore you enhance the possibility of an OS installation failure by each integrated driver. That is why I recommend to integrate just the needed textmode driver and maybe the chipset drivers, but not any others.

The NVIDIA GeForce drivers can easily be extracted by common tools like WinRAR or 7-Zip. After the extraction you can integrate the complete driver by pointing to the file NV4_DISP.INF.The preparation of the ATI Catalyst drivers for the integration is a little bit more complicated. The best thing is to download and run the 9-4_xp32_dd.exe file (you can do this even with a computer without any ATI graphics adapter), because the first step of the "installation" is nothing else than an extraction. After having done it, you will find the extracted driver package within the folder ATI\Support of your OS partition. The INF file, which usually is valid for the integration of the suitable driver, is within the XP_INF folder. After having integrated the driver, you can delete the complete ATI folder. Nothing will be really installed by that procedure.
