does anyone know whats needed for mapped drives? my winpe has been working perfect for mapping shared folder but when i put my pe disk in a system with 256mb ram i run into problems. I used Jazkal's idea for reducing size and i cut my image down alot but i would like to reduce further by removing unneeded services. thanks...

Have you tried to use them without compresing them? Could you compare both methods? Compressed vs Uncompressed? And what's the time of each. uncompressed takes like 2 mins compressed like 10-15 maybe more.

does anyone know where device drivers are stored in your registry? i would like to add massstorage drivers to a already installed windows but im not sure where they would go.

thanks Madboy. i use BTS drivers uncompressed and i run the driver compress tool which compresses in cab from 1.4gigs to around 500+MBs. i've been using your tool on a usb drive with fantastic results. i use all the drivers from BTS cause it's useful during computer repair, not having to go online for drivers. thanks again...

excellent tool. i used this tool Here with BTS driver packs and your tool on a single cd and it worked fine but driver detection took a long time (15mins). is there anything we can do to speed it up or is compressing the drivers too much for it?

i read through, it's all very informative. can those ideas be use on an already installed windows. i like the idea of the *.cab driver file.

i did everything the guide said and even edited the dosnet.inf and all went well until the first boot into windows then bluescreened. i have an HP laptop and it had the same drivers as this guide.

I made an install similar to Dexter.inside using server 2003. i made it into a ghost image that should work on any PC. it doesn't contain driver packs so it fits on 1 bootable ghost cd (475) heres a screen shot.

that setting is being used here and we still have logon issues. only the pc that have been nlited seems to work correctly.

at work we use roaming profiles and it takes upwards of 5min to logon. one day i brought my laptop that was nlited and logged it on the domain and it logged in like 30sec. so i installed nlited xp on one of the computer that needed reimaging and installed all the same software and it still logon in less then a min while all the other pc take upto 5min and in some case as long as 8min. i beleive it a group policy issue that my xp is note effected by. anyone have any ideas of what tweak nlite may have used to fix slow logons? any help would be appreciated.

im having the same problem. runonce installs give errors. i believe it may be an nlite issue as it only happens with latest version.

if you were talking to me i did that but i get an error stating i can only export reg scripts or something like that. i wanted to know can the reg file that come with the theme file be made win98se compatible. thanks again... edit: i did what u said and it worked once i cleared icon cache. thanks.

what i do to copy os into vmware is use Acronis True Image with Acronis Universal Restore then you can move your os image to any computer or vm.

i have a question. if i only install the mass storage drivers and then do a sysprep does your mass storage drivers get included in the sysprep? i want to make a universal image.
