  1. It sounds to me that the AutoConfirm may actually be the problem in this case though. If you change the video back to the higher res. will it stay there after a couple of reboots?
  2. We all are sick of this. Do you know about this already?: GetFiles (OEM) And Hopefully the PowerPacker will have the support for having multiple OEM files for a Multi Pack CD. Stay tuned @ Siginet software for the PowerPacker.
  3. Take into account that you have set: RunLiveUpdate=0 Have you tried changing this setting? Oh, and if you are banging your head, first get a cold beer of your favorite taste. I prefer Bud, the King of Beers. Then, drink it half way. Afterwards, look for the problem, a solution normally appears after that. I don't know, usually works for me.
  4. That's what I'm saying. Don't know what to tell you, it works okay for me, unless I sysprep the machine. I've noticed that when I sysprep a machine that setting seems to get changed somehow. Weird, but it happens. I think it may be that the Default User account gets changed back to the default. Or I missed a step somewheres.
  5. Because you should be using a 2 instead of a zero.
  6. Check out the RVM Integrator and integrate your app into your install. Link is in my sig. follow that page to the forum. Good luck. Probably easier to send you to siginet.ryanvm.net then click on the integrator link.
  7. If it is unattended. You need to make sure the following settings are as follows in your Winnt.sif file: [Data] AutoPartition=0 [Unattended] Repartition=No Well, the AutoPartition=0 will stop at the section you are talking about. So, you can either put it at 0 and it wont be fully unattended, you can partition your drive at that time. Or put it at 1 and for unattended, the Repartition=No will help to keep the drive partitioned the way you part. it. Also, check this out: RTFM
  8. Wow , that sounds painful. Without knowing more about the situation, my first thought is that all drivers need to be reinstalled. If you have another computer handy, or if you can get to the internet, download the drivers from the computer's manufacturer. One question would be, "Why did you have to do a repair in the first place?" Was it do to getting a virus? In which case you should really do a fresh install, formatting the hard drive and reinstalling Windows from scratch. Your computer manufacturer hopefully equipt you with a restore CD/DVD. It doesn't make sense that you DVD drive doesn't work, unless it is not connected correctly, maybe a jumper that isn't placed right. Or it has gone bad.
  9. RenWiz is a nice and simple freeware app. I've used once before myself. No ads, though a small install for the Free Version. I guess if it's bought there is no install. The version I have I don't have to install it.
  10. Hello?!? Was that a typo here in the thread or did you actually name the file with a .text for an extension? Because there would be where your problem is for starters. It needs to be .txt not .text Then, you'll want to also use the cleaned up version from gunsmokingman because your SET PP line shouldn't include the winrar.exe at the end for one. And you use the %PP% as illistated in his example as well. All in all, Read The Manual carefully. Paying close attention to details.
  11. I feel your pain. That's why I'm working on setting up DiegoStart for myself. My co-workers and I were trying BartPE for a little while and ran into the same issue. I can't yet say much about DiegoStart, I haven't got it to a point yet where I've tried it. Been to busy on other things. But I can say that with just BartPE, there is some problem or short coming.
  12. Maybe this is too simple. End quotes? Or I wonder if it can be something with the new version. I'll try it out on one of my machines and see if I get similar results. For now it's off to bed with me. If you figure it out, it'll be nice to know what it is. I've still been just having 5.04 installed myself and I know it's time to go with the latest.
  13. Ya, let me know. I tried it and it didn't work. I'll look into more and let you know if I run into success. It's got to be something in that HIVE file though. I may not have pointed correctly to the file. I put the full path in there instead of just the name of the file.
  14. Me either. I wasn't speaking of nLite. I don't use it. Good Luck.
  15. And if the above does not work. You might give the free version of QSoft RamDisk a try. I found out about it through the use of BartPE. PS: Have you heard of DiegoStart? It is a disk made with the use of BartPE and it's for installing unattended Windows by booting to the BartPE CD.
  16. T-15 is where it's registering components. Might this apply to your situation?
  17. You should read up on the unattended guide hosted here. But for your question, first take a look at organizing an OEM directory HERE. Note the Install directory and place your programs for install in there. Be careful what you put in there, I've started using WPI from this forum for my installs because of programs like Office2K3. You could use a DVD though too. Then, for the RunOnceEx.cmd file, check out this page HERE. And when you go to reference a program you're installing use %systemdrive%\install: rem "Installs Adobe Acrobat Reader" start /w %systemdrive%\install\adobe\adbr7\setup.exe /S /v/qn rem "Installs Office 2000 Pro" /f start /w %systemdrive%\install\Office\Office2kPro_SR-1\setuppro.exe TRANSFORMS=FILE.MST /q rem "Installs Antivirus Client" start /w msiexec.exe /i "%systemdrive%\install\Anti\SAV902\WIN32\Symantec AntiVirus.msi" ADDLOCAL=SAVMain,SAVUI,SAVHelp,EMailTools,OutlookSnapin,Pop3Smtp,QClient NETWORKTYPE=1 SERVERNAME=ENTVM11 ENABLEAUTOPROTECT=1 RUNLIVEUPDATE=0 REBOOT=ReallySuppress /qn rem "Installs Java support" start /w %systemdrive%\install\java\jre-1_5_0_04-windows-i586-p.exe /s /v"/qn ADDLOCAL=ALL IEXPLORER=1 REBOOT=Suppress JAVAUPDATE=0 EULA=1" exit
  18. Alright, this is not tested, yet by me. But I'm sure it's the answer to your question. I've actually wanted to do this myself, just never got around to looking for the answer till your question. In your I386 folder find the file HIVEDEF.INF Then, perform a Find (or the entry is just about to the bottom, up by about 30 - 40 lines) for DEFUALT_WALLPAPER= and change that to what you want. The background picture should exist in your %windir%Web\Wallpaper folder though. Otherwise, there will be some error message I'm sure.
  19. My question is, "Why are you using Config.sys & Autoexec.bat when you're loading XP? Check out the utilities in my signature, they may help you get up to speed with XP installs.
  20. Dude, read your own post and you should be able to answer that. No insult intended. You have A: all over the place. So, I'm taking an educated guess that the references you have here are in an Autoexec.bat file? Just try removing all the A: references and leave the backslash (\)
  21. Well I wasn't aware of this. I was looking for something else and found it. Regarding the SFC file: unattended site Prepatched Files
  22. Sounds like you can use the SFC_OS.dll (System File Checker) improved file. Check out the Integrator Update Pack Addons by following the link in my signature and, if you're not already, you can become familiar with RyanVM's Integrator. It's very cool and useful. (I think I can only post the link that's in my sig. otherwise I may break some rule. Maybe I can say to check out the discussion forum, then under Update Pack Discussions there is a link for Update Pack Addons. Then, Addon Pack Downloads. Then scroll 3/4 of the way down to find the file I'm talkin' about.) Good luck man. I think I'm done editing this reply too. Oh ya, you had 2 issues. There is a command in XP for shutting down and restarting: shutdown.exe -r -f -t 30 -c "To finish installations computer will now reboot in 30 sec..."
  23. I was busy all day and had Siginet called me up and tell me about it. I laughed my Ar$$ off! That is so cool. Ryan has some sense of humor.
  24. I thought it was FUNNY when Siginet told me about that. That's awesome thinking for April Fools on Ryan's part. What a jokester! Just click the link on the bottom of his page to get to his site and he has an April Fools titled across it. Way to go Ryan! Way to GO!
  25. Why not sfc.exe /scannow Run it from the Run prompt They just need a Windows CD handy in case it founds files that are damaged.
