  1. Paul and I found a workaround. Please refer to first post of this thread.
  2. Does anyone have a clue what will happen on a german system. I mean the whole system is translated to german and therefore I don't see a problem. Anyone out there sharing this oppinion? There could be problems for the guys down in switzerland and austria as they may have the same problems as Bigred, but hey that doesn't have to bother me, does it?
  3. FINAL EDIT: I think I found the problem, try downloading again please!!!!
  4. @webmedic: That's too bad. I have no idea how this works, which means that the tool will be in development for a longer time than this one has been. Is this thread worth to get all necessary knowledge: http://board.MSFN.org/index.php?showtopic=8632 I would be glad to do so, but keep in mind that I have had holiday till now and need to get bad to work on monday and that I am not that much of a programmer.
  5. @Paul365: I uploaded a different version of the tool. Please run this one and tell me if it worked.
  6. @webmedic: It's completly .net free! @vcant: I think that will be possible, but as Bor3d is willing to program that registry tool too, I think that it would be better if I hand him over my sources for the XPAntiSpy part and maybe he can implement that function. Bor3d if you ever read this, give me a quick reply via PM, okay?
  7. Hey that's beta, isn't it?! Now it works!!
  8. Ladies and Gents for your pleasure Budster and me present: Windows XP Enhanced Setup v0.9 beta 7 As most of you probably won't read the tool's readme.txt I decided to post it here, so all of you know what this tool is actually about. Here are some screenshots: If you would like to participate at the beta testing, you may get XP-ES here: Windows XP - Enhanced Setup It might occur that XP-ES won't start. Then please download this MSCOMCTL.OCX and place it at your applications directory! Thank you, Nephilim PS: Please post any suggestions and error-reports. Thank you.
  9. I was thinking about tonight! As I won't be there the next week, which will give you enough time for beta testing @Webmedic: May Is still use your webspace? I only need about 70k!
  10. Well I think that would be out of the question, cause the program is especially designed for this purpose. It is meant as an add-on to your cd (well more like DVD). The basic idea is to have a collection of apps put on your DVD and define your(!) selection of application (default values). Now image you would like to set up a second computer (school, company, whatsoever). You might not want to install every application you have on your basic system, which is why the timer exists. If time is up your default selection is installed, if you cancel you may select a different set. So if don't wish to let pop-up the timer at all and therefore install your default set, you won't need the program at all, cause you can create a static batch yourself.
  11. sorry that must have been my bad english skills. actually that's exactly what it does!! <program> Countdown -> Reaches 0:00 -> Create Batches with default values -> terminate the programm </program>
  12. For those of you who are interested here is a status report about the current developments: Version Status: 0.8 (beta) Featurelist: - Add your Applications to setup.ini (Name & Installation Commands) - Add your Drivers to setup.ini (Name & Installation Commands) - Define Default set of Applications and Drivers - Possibility to add "Mulit-CD" feature to batches - Possibility to add XP-Antispy 3.72 like features to batch - Automated exit of program after 10 mins and create batches via default values Yet to come: - Define default set of extra features (Multi-CD, XPAntiSpy) - Some sort of design would be nice - Beta testing - Checking if it is "id***-proof" Now for the important thing: Is there ANYTHING you guys would like to have add. It's kind of urgent, as my holidays end this week and I won't be home for a couple of days afterwards. So I won't be able to keep track of your advisories.
  13. It's like that: Imagine you try to set up a new system while watching a DVD or something. I think that 10 minutes are a little too less. But I had so much argumenst against this that I will set the time to a static value (if I am ever gonna solve that problem). By the way I don't know if anyone noticed but I created a tool for xpantispy features being applied. Would anyone mind if I sum this two tools up to one? Or should I create one general tool for registry tweaks?
  14. Thanks webmedic. Therefore I can use it, can't I! The only things I need to do right now, is to find webspace and create a nifty GUI! Would you mind lending me some of your Webmedic ?
  15. That would be a problem cause it is only suitable for times that are smaller than round about 10 minutes. But I would like to let this variable set at the .ini file.
  16. Regarding Lanuages: Wouldn't it be nice to place an "Options" Button next to "File", from where you are able to select the program's default language. One method to safe the languages is as .ini files, from where you are able to load the information very easy!
  17. Hey B0r3d I was just looking over you programm and i think I am not able to use it. At your section "Windows Variables" you use "C:\Documents and Settings" als %profiledir%. That's very nice of you, but in Germany it's "C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen" and as was not planning to change the windows language again.... Talking of languages, what about a german.ini, english. ini, hebrew.ini, polish.ini and what else we can offer from users of this forum? Any plans regarding this? Hope you didn't get me wrong, your program is great!!!!!
  18. I tried to add all registry entries that are applied by XPAntiSpy, only to find out that some entries are system specific. You need to have some sort of serial number for that. Actually I never heard of it before, but anyway I think I have found a work-around. Which is where you fellows come in handy. I need you to verify something for me: If you start regedit and open the node HKEY_USERS there will appear a couple of different nodes. One node is simple the Serial (ID) for you system. (eg. S-1-5-21-1167204288-1645353376-1513064588-1003). The thing is, that I am to dumb and too lazy to read out this registry entry, which is why I tried to find a different place for this thing. And I actually think I found one. This serial is hidden as folder at this spot: C:\Documents and Settings\USER NAME\\Application Data\Microsoft\Credentials\ atleast it is on my computer. It may occur that there is more than one serial-number-folder. But there ought to be one with exactly the same combination as written at your registry. Please compare both registry entry and folder name for me at YOUR PC. I this truly works, I will send the tool I programmed to create a (system specific) XPAntiSpy.reg file to anyone who would like to have it. Thanks in advance, Nephilim P.S: I would be very thankful if anyone could give me (detailed) information about what this serial is good for and when and how it is created.
  19. XP Enhanced Setup made by Budster. I am helping out with coding.
  20. Very nice, there we have the first out of a couple of tools for a collection Second one will be coming till end of the week I suppose.
  21. If noone asks for other features than it's nearly ready. I am currently trying to find a solution for the following problem: The programm is supposed to exit itself after a period of time and if nothing happend during that time (no user interaction). Any solutions are welcome. Any VB source code regard this problem either
  22. Simple create a SFX (.exe - File) and use the -s switch. eg rarfile.exe -s That's all.
  23. That's funny, it worked on my pc although I got it from a homepage! Although it makes sense somehow. I will edit my post.
  24. Hey Aaron you couldn't have come up with RegShot a little earlier, could you?! I worked my a** off to collect all registry settings for XP-AntiSpy and know you tell me, that would have been 5 minutes work. Well, I could have looked for the tool myself of course. But I seem to like the harder way! Just ask my girlfriend! Nephilim P.S.: Did I really wrote that last sentence?
  25. Someone asked for all XP-AntiSpy 3.71 settings besides "Disable Scheduled Tasks" and "Delete Swap File at System Shutdown". As most of them have been posted earlier and as they are pretty self-explaining I didn't comment them. So take them, or leave them. REMOVED DUE TO ANSWER TO THIS HELP !!!!! SORRY
