yes exactly. which also menas that we had to go through contortions just to get it ther to begin with.

you will still need the hacked uxtheme.dll the hacked sfc_os.dll only turns off wfp after ypou apply a reg tweak telling it to do so. So you could not apply the reg tweak till cmdlines.txt at the soonest which means the installer will replace your files before then and it will still be a moot issue. but after you laod the reg file into place then wfp will be off. You can now leave it off if you like or only leave it off for the rest of the install and then turn it back on. with another reg file that will turn it back on. It's kinda nice durring install at least if you want ot repalce a bunch of system files for say hacked ones that icons you have changed in resedit.
-
well it will allow you to turn off windows file protection. IN other words windows wont bug you foir the cd when you delete files from the syste32 folder. For me it means I dont need to force the user to remove the cd durring guirunonce. I would if it was me use this wiht the reghack to turn off wfp then install the system then use another reghack to turn wfp back on. I do like it just not durring install.

doh fixed. I uploaded to the wrong directory. it does windows file protection.

How to do raid drivers and hotfixes correctly.
webmedic replied to webmedic's topic in Device Drivers
ok I see the problem thanks for the log file. first I'm not sure were you put your sp1 folder but it should be under files like so files/sp1 waht is going on is that it is not finding your sp1 folder at all. adn so when it packs your sp1 folder up there is nothing in it. Make shure your sp1 folder has files in it. If for some reson it does not then that is your problem. Get the one directly from your cd and extract it into there. -

webmedic replied to webmedic's topic in Device Drivers
well no. I have never rnu accross that specific problem. I would suggest starting over from scratch. and if you can you do need to use sp1. This is not intended for installs that do not have sp1 already slipstreamed in. The version I'm working on will grab sp1 for you and do all that work on it's own whithout bugging you. -
even the ones on the left hand side? How?

How to do raid drivers and hotfixes correctly.
webmedic replied to webmedic's topic in Device Drivers
um no you need to change those back or else you will have bad problems durring install. They also need to be all on the same line. You may want to wait a couple days till I release a full download pack so that the files are like they should be and you will be able to use them like they are without any cut and past -
How to do raid drivers and hotfixes correctly.
webmedic replied to webmedic's topic in Device Drivers
if you can wait a few days i'm going to release a new versio nthat will do a little more than the current one. I will release a .9 for the current one and call it .9 beta I guess. I will include al lthe files needed to make it work so you should not have a hard time wiht it. It will auto create the directories it needs that aren't there and a few other things. IF it is stable then I will release it as 1.0 with any big fixes that may be needed. After that there will be some changes and additions. The next code release will do sp1 for you as well as hopefully slipstream dx9 and .net. I'm going to finish this up as soon as posible and then after that I will start working on the part that will create iso's and make bootable cd's from it all. IT should more or less be all automatic and not give any problems. You will be able to add your own files into place to customize the cd how you want. -

does it work with the previous version? did you change anything else? I know for a fact here that it works with these because I just ran it. 2\js56nen.EXE 2\KB822964.EXE 2\q330994.EXE 2\q818529.EXE 2\q822925.EXE Here again I must stress this is only for security and critical updates. One more thing if you try to install updates for sofware that is not included in windows xpsp1 then you will have problems. I would say right off that the javwu one should not work as it is either an update for the newer version of java that is not included in the default install or it is the updated version of java itself. I dont know this for a fact though I'm just guessing from the name. If you go back and read the previous page of this thread you will see the current list of hotfixes and criticalk updates this script will work with most of those. One more thing if you could send me the files you are using then I could test them here localy and see what we can do for you. -
thanks. Thats interesting that something that small would make the difference. Wonder who that guy is and were he came from.

How to do raid drivers and hotfixes correctly.

hm did not know that but at any rate that does not happen to me because. 1) I dont use ie 2) I'm behind my linux firwall 3) my isp rotates my ip address so grc cant even figure out what I am. Since my ip address comes out as a string like so. cs-centurytel-net-194-145-67-5. Sinceit look like that they have a hard time tracking me. 4) I have a firewall on my windows box also(outpost). Wich does a small amount of privacy stuff. 5) my linux firwall us using ipv4 and not v6 so it does not pass mac address's -

yea I thought I should share that with you all. For me it makes no difference I dont use most of those things and even when I do I never find anything worth getting. It's mostly a bunch of porn and whatnot else I dont care about. -
use this command instead. shutdown -r -f -t 120 -c "Windows XP will now restart in 2 minutes, this will give enough time for the shortcuts to update and for the shell to fully load before its ready to restart!" set the time you want before reboot with the -t switch. Right now it is set for -t 120 or 120 seconds ( 2 minutes)

Ok i wasn't even really thinking about the serialization aspect. I was only htinking about hte headers themeselves. I did not guess correctly though as I thought it was for just making microsoft based cd's and did not think it was for internal use only.
