  3. Try this : Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;Remove Play On My For AVI File [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AVIFile\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\PlayOnMyTV] ;Remove Play On My For MPEG and MPG Files [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\mpegfile\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\PlayOnMyTV] ;Remove Play On My For WMV File [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\WMVFile\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers\PlayOnMyTV] Maybe it will help a bit on finding the right registry values regarding your issue.
  4. Hi again. Well, to start, i wonder if anyone had this problem before. Upon some windows update i applied to my Win2k SP4 server, i reboot as the installer require it to be done. After reboot and log-in with my valid administrator password and user name, i received an error messages that tells me "Service Control Manager" has encouter an error of ""The Automatic Updates service hung on starting"".. So, any solution to that ? I try googling the error but there's no luck.
  5. well, the last time i login i went straight to ask members for question at one of the forum here. now for the proper introduction.. hi all. dunno if there is any other malaysians here, so greeting to all from around the globe. other infos about myself ? well i'm adult male, working as a network/maintanance admin at one of prestigious education university in malaysia. currently maintaning 3 sunfire(solaris) servers and 4 IBM e660 p series (unix, windows 2k advanced server) servers. feel free to ask me questions, and i'm really looking forward to talk/chat with everyone here.
  6. hmm.. hi there. i got similiar problem back over a year ago.. but in my case was with winxp installation. what i do was, i reposition the RAMs, (changing slots with each others) and after that the installation went well. also in other cases i came across with, i reburn the entire dvd/cd with different media brand and also after that the installation went smoothly as silk. hope thats help. sorry no technical explaination for what i did, tho i hope to find one soon.
  7. thanks, i had the windows installer 3.1 uninstalled this morning. it helps fix the problem. i also had noticed that the version installed earlier via the windowsupdate is windows installer 3.1 (v2) after i removed it, the restart only took a few second and boot to windows in less than one minutes. so maybe something else went wrong with the update itself tho. or maybe it is not win2k server compatible ? it is my nature to investigate this problem to the root. so if someone elses out there came across similiar case, do post it here. thanks in advance.
  8. Well, to start, my organization using windows 2000 server on IBM e660 p series server. just recently i noticed something odd with the server that everytimes i try to restart the server (Start Menu > Shutdown > Restart), the reboot process somewhat hung.. the screen is filled with the teal background and only the mouse is moveable... i've only noticed this problem when i currently updating the server with windows installer 3.1 and one more security patch from microsoft (can't remember what tho..) it hungs like there's no end to it so the last resort i took was to reset the server via the reset button.. so please anyone help me with this..
